So the Mount Merchant allows you to trade a Heavy Mystic Nightmare for a Heavy Inferno Nightmare right?
My question is, when you trade it in, does the Inferno Nightmare come in Bound? What if I trade in a Bound Mystic Nightmare?
(I know it says Bind-on-Equip, but let's face it, that statement has been known to turn out false/conditional)
(Please Assume I have my reasons)

The better question is, why would you?
The mystic version is far rarer and more valuable. Would be a shame to trade it in for a normal nightmare.

The last promotion churned out Mystic Nightmares like it's raining, there are currently 15 Mystic and only 4 Inferno Nightmares on the AH, so the rarity was quite inverted.
Well, like say, if I plan on getting a new epic mount on that toon but I don't want the Nightmare to go to waste so I want to send it over to a different toon.
I don't expect Cryptic left an kind of loophole where you can trade in a bound mount and get an unbound one. So it's safe to assume if it's bound, it will stay that way. And if the mount is still unbound, just trade it to the character you are sure wants it before making the exchange.
Since when can you trade in mounts at the merchant?
Since the mystic mount was introduced. I do have to agree that it feels like a waste to trade something that was exclusive for something that was more widely available. When it was introduced I hope noone did it because that really would be a waste, I'm sure plenty of people would trade their regular version for a mystic at the time, though people could exploit trades.

Yeah that's what I feared. I just had to doublecheck since it said "binds on pickup". Thank you!

You can only trade in a Heavy Mystic Nightmare for a Heavy Inferno Nightmare at the Mount Merch. And not te other way around.
