Black Ice Gloves

On my cw I was able go get the main hand in Icewind Pass, but no gloves. I have also tried on a second character but still none. I would love instead of a new mod asap, fixing preexisting problems. Has anyone had problems with getting the gloves or main hand?

    Look, that's how Cryptic does stuff:
    - When I was a ~14k CW I farmed HEs days and nights with 90% of them being Great Success, I got 0 black ice gloves...
    - Now I'm almost a ~20k CW and I get the black ice gloves every 4-6 HEs...

    Think about that.

    On my CW I started Mod 3 late. Even still, within 3 weeks of starting it, I had both gloves and mainhand. How?

    1. I ignored the Epic HE's. They were zerged with people which diluted each individual's chance of obtaining anything good. The best I ever got from an Epic HE was some Elk Tribe HAMSTER that wasn't even for my class.
    2. I went for the Major HE's. I showed up first and soloed most of it before others arrived.
    3. I farmed at "off hours" meaning late night US time. Fewer people = each individual contribution meant more.
    4. Even still it took over 100 Major HE's. But in the end I got 2 gloves and 3 mainhands.

    Now I have not tried with my GWF or my DC. I have read that it is especially hard for DC. So I can understand that. But for a DPS class like a CW (or a GWF) it should be a no-brainer.

    I've gotten my ice gloves yesterday on my TR. Super happy, a TR getting the gloves, just yay. However I farm'd a ton of HEs, a ton of HEs that really wasn't necessary and I should've gotten them earlier. I've gotten about 2 epic drops before I got my gloves. One epic bear clan dagger and its off-hand after that. I'll give you a run down on my assumptions based on my experiance.
    1. Do corrupted wolfs major HE. I've gotten so much success on this HE with my other classes.
    2. Be the first one there or try to be there the moment it pops.
    3. Do as much AoE dmg as possible.
    4. I'm about day 16ish in my IWD campaign so 160 rep.
    5. So if you do about 5-7 HEs (epic/major) per day for about 16-20ish days... around that time-frame you should start to see those gloves drop.
    5. Getting great success on those HEs definitely grants you a high chance for those gloves. I've never gotten a glove drop thats not a great success. However I've gotten epic item drops from from epic HEs that just a normal success so it could be possible to get gloves on Epic encounters with no great success, not sure.

    First let me say I know the grind may seem nigh unbearable but in fact it isnt. Both my GF and GWf got the gloves to drop from the Corrupted Bears in the Pass in few hours of trials( around 10 epic HEs ). The same HE dropped them for me by doing this:

    1 - I was the first to start it at 19m
    2 - I kept as many bears on me as I could (damage + tanking + self healing )
    3 - as more people were coming I kept running around to aggro all the bears
    4 - I was first on the boss and kept him on me almost all the time

    So, I can safely say the HE Corrupted Bears consistently drops the BI gloves if you do it properly as a GF and GWF. The grind was no more than a week for both toons ( since I play only like 1-2 hours per session ). People who have spent months with no reward are definitely not achieving enough of a Great Success. I dont know what counts for other classes but it should be damage for most and healing done for DCs probably.
    I've posted angry comments about these drops myself in the past but I admit I wasnt playing it the way it should be played in order to get the drop.

    I lost track of the number of heroic encounters I've done and I'm definitely done trying to get those. Just as I'm not gonna bother with artifact belts or any other gear they put behind an RNG or paywall in the future.

    Err, I got 2 BI mainhands in like 5 beholder runs :<

    I droped even going to IWD. hate that place now after grinding for 3 month of black ice bracers. Still did not get it. And i have 2 main hands - 1 from Beholder on first run ever, second when did trolls in team of 2 after servers were down and there was nobody. Yet still my second HR - one that i have for professions got bracers from Remo on his first run too. No Main hand still. Hate RND and all HE.

    I am happy for you that you got the drop (honestly). I've pretty much maxed out the Epic and Major HE's and maxed out the minors on my GWF. Been there start to finish in most of them. The RNG is an epic phail, btw, my rep is at 350 on him.

    Now I go on my SW (who is my main now) and still no MH or Gloves and her rep is at 220. I know Rep has nothing to do with it. Im just saying Ive been doing HE's alot.

    I don't even try anymore, srsly whats the point. I only go for boons then I am out of there. Onto the dragons and their crappy RNG.

    "Grind" is the term I would use for "achieving success through accumulation". This is completely RNG, so it's hard to even call it a "grind", it's just a desperate race against an evil god.

    I was rather lucky with my CW and dropped both after just a few HEs without even trying hard (Great Success almost guaranteed with CW).
    Now I'm at it with my HR and it's getting really hard. I'm probably at HE #150 (major & epic) and I seldom get Great Success if ever, because other classes can either take huge damage or do ludicrous amounts of AoE DPS. So I do understand how hard and unfair it can get.

    Now, if Cryptic introduced some kind of "HE token", with which you could buy gloves/mainhand after a number of HEs, it would be great (and a bit fairer class-wise).

    There should be a way to achieve all pieces with out endless hours or plain luck. Maybe they could add an area you have to unlock with 350 Reputation. Like another dungeon that is epic and requires 13 or higher gear score to enter. Lets say it would take 10 runs or more to get enough reward for bracers.

    This is not a grind, nor is it farming. This is cruel torture. The thought of farming my BI gloves makes me want to hang myself.

    never got on any toon, dont play much icewind, really hate that place, but still did enough great sucesses on big HE to make it at least probable to get one
