Artifact Weapon Refining

Can someone please tell me if I can use a Highly refined Artifact Weapon to another Weapon Artifact? just like Refining a Blue Power Artifact to a Green Power Artifact, to get the Bonus Refinement points..

    You can do this I am told but apparently you will lose RP compared to refining the second weapon directly. The slightly more complicated answer is that you do gain RP but only until level 8 or so (again this is info from a friend).

    Of course if you have already put RP into an artifact weapon and you are sure that you will never need it then you might as well use it as refinement fodder for the second artifact weapon.

    It is better to refine the artifact weapon you plan to use directly.

    Using RP to refine a second artifact weapon and then using that to refine the weapon artifact you plan to use LOSES you RP.
