Trickster Rogue Class Advocate - Nomination Thread

Greetings Trickster Rogues!

We want to hear what you have to say about your class!

If chosen as a class advocate, you'll be responsible for compiling the feedback of your fellow players about your class. Each week, you'll submit feedback in the form of a bullet-point list to me via forum PM. I'll then take that list (and the lists from the other classes) and forward them to our devs.

How do you become a class advocate?

You can start by stating your interest in this thread.

After that, send me a PM answering these questions:

-Why do you want to be a class advocate?
-Why do you like this class?
-How long have you been playing Neverwinter?
-Do you play any other MMOs? (Don't worry, we won't get jealous ) If so, what class do you play?
-Do you play D&D? If so, what class(es) do you like to play?
-In what direction do you want to see this class go?

Once I've selected a candidate, this candidate will remain "in-office" until the next module's launch. For example, the candidate I choose now will remain until Module 5's launch (whenever that may be).

Please remember: Private Message Akromatik with your Answers to his Questions, as well as any Concerns or Questions one may have. Do NOT post nominations or comments about others in this thread. If you have a concern about someone who has nominated them-self, PM Akromatik or any of the Community Team.

This thread is not for general discussions, it is not for bashing, and it is not for PvP Smack Talk.
This is a Nominations thread, not a Voting Thread or Soap Box.

Furthermore, if one cannot follow our Rules of Conduct, they most certainly won't be an Advocate. Think before you post folks and remember our first Rule: Show Respect At All Times!

About the Role of an Advocate:
Advocates won't be chosen to represent their opinions. But instead are to act as intermediaries for the Community as a whole on specific topics and areas, whether or not they agree with such or not. They will have checks and balances to make sure that they are being unbiased in their relay of the Community's Ideas, Opinions, and Suggestions.

Furthermore, Advocates won't be able to "make things happen." Instead, such is more akin to what we Moderators already do, which is relay all the hot topics and serious bugs so that the Developers know to look more deeply into such issues being reported in Bug Reports and on the Forum. The Developers don't just take our word for it, they see our word as a sign that they need to look deeper into the matter.

Alas, Moderators do not have the time to properly dedicate to such as we have other duties. This has been made aware by the sheer number of things we report each week (and sometimes daily) and then find out that we have forgotten something or overlooked something else entirely. This is where the Advocates come in, to help and ease such things.

Also, here is some clarification also from Community Manager Akromatik:
Some clarification on the on class advocate position.

-These individuals will be selected based on their past actions and participation in the class feedback threads from previous modules. They will be selected by GentlemanCrush and myself.

-The advocates will hold office for 1 module. Once their time in the sun is up, we will move on to the next eligible candidate.

-These advocates will not be assisting in the design or decisions regarding the class direction. These players will function to collate and collect feedback into more readable lists to improve dev response time and better allow the feelings of the community to become apparent.

-A big part of this is separating the feedback from the "discussions" that tend to pop up in these threads. These advocates will include any and all feedback in their reports. They will not be the ones deciding what is "good" feedback and what isn't. If we find that an advocate has been purposely omitting feedback in their reports, they will be relieved of their post immediately.

Hopefully that has answered some questions.

I have send a message on PM. My interest lies only in TR being viable again in pve and pvp. I am not interested in digging holes under my class that is why i declared myself as that advocate.

-Why do you want to be a class advocate? I've been a TR since day 1 and have been at the top of the PVP spectrum for a long time, lately my class has fallen out of the ranks of a viable and playable class and I want to share my ideas in order to improve its standings in the PvP & PvE community

-Why do you like this class?
Stealth based classes have always appealed to me in any game I've played. The whole concept of lurking in the shadows and killing a target before it's even noticed has always appealed to me.

-How long have you been playing Neverwinter?
I have been playing since Open Beta

-Do you play any other MMOs? (Don't worry, we won't get jealous ) If so, what class do you play? I've played WoW, LoL, AQW and TERA, In all games I have always been a Rogue as my primary class. However I value learning every class in order to improve my ability to face that class and survive (in the realm of PvP) and also use my abilities to compliment the other classes abilities in a teamwork situation.

-In what direction do you want to see this class go? Although I do very much enjoy the current Perm stealth meta, I feel that a Rogue should exist as a striker class, not a node staller. In addition, for PvE it should reclaim its role as most SINGLE TARGET DPS and be the class in charge of damaging the boss.

On the same token, TR's PvE damage is Laughable at best, It should exist as the main boss DPS In my opininion

Our voices definitely need to be heard, even the ones we don't always agree with. I want to see positive change in this class, I've been playing TR since Beta Weekend 4 so I know how hard the changes have hit over the course of the game's history, so I'm going to throw my hat into the ring as well.

-Why do you want to be a class advocate?:
I've been an avid player, theorycrafter, and supporter of the TR class since beta. When people thought the class was dying, I was one of the few TRs who stuck with the class and tried to find various viable means to play the class.

Amongst all the classes in the game, I can proudly say that the TR community is the most resilient, being able to adapt to every debilitating change the game has thrown at us so far. And as such, I believe that by being a class advocate, I may be able to better impart not just my own insight regarding the many directions our class may take, but also for those who wish for their voices to be heard; whether it be in the game or in the forums. To be able to help shape the class to this extent is an opportunity I've been dreaming of for a long time now.

-Why do you like this class?:
I've been a rogue since Beta, and it's my main character despite my desire to test other classes and creating fun and unique builds out of each one I play. But amongst all the classes I've played, the rogue, in my opinion, takes the most careful thinking to play. This appeals to me very greatly, as I am the type of player who prefers to think about how he will engage in an encounter, and execute plans, rather than going into the fray and beat on things. The rogue is the only class in the game that can provide the thrill of seeing your plans come into fruition, as you work to achieve them from the shadows; just as a rogue should be.

-How long have you been playing Neverwinter?:
Since beta. I hopped into the game as soon as I was able to, due to the plain and simple fact that this game has the best combat out of all the MMO's I've played. It's highly engaging, intelligent, and the overall experience is just great. Been sticking with the game when everyone else I knew in the game were dropping out, because I know this game has the potential to become SO much more than it currently is.

-Do you play any other MMOs? (Don't worry, we won't get jealous) If so, what class do you play?:
I've played my fair share of MMOs, from very well known ones to MMOs which I thought were fun and unique, but not so well-known. I stopped playing in most of them after I got hit hard with my career, but I mained as a Rogue in WoW, an Assassin in Rift, a Thief and Mesmer in Guild Wars 2, and for the not-so well-known MMOs, played as an Assassin in Shaiya, a Counter-based Rapid Gunner in Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, and an Assassin in Ragnarok online. My fascination for classes and builds that heavily incorporate stealth, deception, subterfuge and trickery into their core is a deep-rooted one.

I believe Stealth is an art-form in MMOs. Being able to pull off your plans successfully from the shadows, with your limitations, is something to take pride on.

-Do you play D&D? If so, what class(es) do you like to play?:
Nope, unfortunately. The closest thing to DnD I played was Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights back in the days. But I loved playing as a Ranger and Rogue in Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. Last I played, I was playing as a Human Rogue/Duelist with 1 rank in Shadowdancer. It's not the most offensive build, and it took time to kill things, but man was it fun.

-In what direction do you want to see this class go?:
I believe that there is not one direction the Rogue should take. We have an entire skill tree that can be modeled to have many different effects if we can just properly allocate certain "themes" to what each of them does (to elude, to execute elaborate combinations, to deal great harm to foes).

We have three Paragon Feat Paths that can further personalize how we wish to play the rogue, and with these many resources to build our play style, I believe that the rogue, and most likely each and every class to come in the game, shouldn't be limited to just one play style. When a rogue specs for a certain role, he should be able to do what he specced for properly. And that's the path that I am looking at for rogues.

Rogues should be able to play as a striker who deals great harm to his foes and executes those who harm his friends, as a trickster who eludes his opponents left and right, as a silent shadow in a dark corner who observes things from afar and strikes at the right opportunity, as a combination of two of those or maybe even more. Why exactly should we settle for just ONE way to play when we can have MORE? :) The game is so full of potential. Let your imagination run wild, I say!

-Why do you want to be a class advocate? i dont wanna be advocate. i just wanna give my opinion

-Why do you like this class?
im playing mmo since 2003 and i was playing wow for 7 year(multiple gladiator + r1) just rogue and here also just TR my whole online game life was TR trick ppl :)) and i can move welldone while im stealth. simply i just like Rogue

-How long have you been playing Neverwinter?
i've just started to play hmm.. dunno really but when i start the lashing blade impact shot build was dead and perma was new born

-Do you play any other MMOs? (Don't worry, we won't get jealous ) If so, what class do you play?ive just played wow since that i couldnt play any other game compare to that i was high end qualified wow player with hydra and kalimist if u know them.. but for now just this game because this game exepensive enough to p2w for pvp player:D (( tbh u have to make something what people can do pvp without pay 1.000 dollar something)) thats why pvp commity in this game is that low ppl dont have enough cash to put on game otherwise without cash u have to farm 1 year to get 1 character end game:D

-In what direction do you want to see this class go? tbh TR's are quite ok i like to play perma. Duelist flurry is one of the and can say clearly most hard atwill in game but doesnt give enough worth of dps anymore instead of other easy class atwills u need to buff duelist for sureee. and there is a wrong on stealth mechanism it have to be able to OPEN-CLOSE system even when its close while im reflling my stealth meter if i get damage its stupid to get it down it should keep improve then u will see other combination of Tr's because right now trs must have to have SS and itc then 3. skill generally because of amazing hrs and cw and other charcters in game b&s.. its very hard to be pro tr and feel it and use DF in premade and once u do that u want to take back what u give time and tired WORTH so boost DF some and people can see us soooo easy it shouldnt be like that.. we are HAMSTER tr bro. rogue... when i go stealth mode ppl shouldnt shift on me. instead o it they have to run away... cw 1v1's ''' i throw SS instant shift on me dot on me(what ever name). there is so many compalaining thing about trs but im happy actually just srsly we need some buff on duelist flurry not some SERİOUS when i DF HAMSTER hr his hp bar go down %1 box mine go %2 box how the ... possible:D. so u guyz say sit on node and dont move its not tr game type when i DF someone they have to RUNNNNNN because thats my only one dps my atwill give real dps on it.. i dont care or know pve what ever i just talk on PVP

i want to be also advocate but im enogh tired about this complains to devs because they never listen. thats why best is sit and play however we are. im not also that online in forum i just prefer to play. but there is a Sicarius he is welldone tr. there is just one TR in server who we can fight face to face. he know what he doing rest of pvp trs hmmm SO SO. but they learn also. so what i say BUFF DFFFFFF NOTHING MORE maybe u can do immune dps while we are in light mode of duelist that would be imba

I don't want to be an advocate, but I do support the class 100%. Since open beta I've played the Trickster Rogue class exclusively and I have never had any problems with it. This class does everything I want and I just hope it continues to prove it's reliability in the years to come.

Trickster Rogue Class Advocate - Nomination Thread
    Greetings Trickster Rogues!

Because TR is one of my favourite classes and always has been and its a little disappointing to play in pve currently because I feel as though the other classes are better at my job than I am.
-Why do you like this class?
Because of the stealth. I have always been a fan of rogue/assassin type classes in any game I play. Even when I play the other classes on Neverwinter I often find myself trying to go out of my way to sneak past a group of enemies when it would be faster to simply eliminate them all.
-How long have you been playing Neverwinter?
Since the Beta, unfortunately I don't know how long that actually is, I just know its been more than a year because of the Ardent coins.
-Do you play any other MMOs? (Don't worry, we won't get jealous ) If so, what class do you play?
Occasionally but none have managed to hold my interests as solidly as Neverwinter. I still ended up being the rogue usually or at least it ends up being my favourite. In DDO I also played Wizard and Paladin. I tried Cleric but all that amounted to was sit in the back and throw heals at health bars. Much better and more interactive in Neverwinter.
-Do you play D&D? If so, what class(es) do you like to play?
All sorts. I've played a lot of 3.5e and I've made some absolutely overpowered characters that should have no right existing in a campaign. I often play the sneaky guy/assassin/scout or the support in some way, often as a caster of some sort.
-In what direction do you want to see this class go?
In pvp they can be annoying to everyone else because permastealth means that a single rogue can lock down a point for their team so if your team has two rogues then just send each of them to a point and have the other 3 at the last. So in pvp they need some re-work with stealth. However I expect that is hard to do because currently in pve they don't stand out when it comes to single target damage and need that stealth in order to compete with the other classes. So for pvp I'm not sure what direction you can take because you seem to be on that tight-rope of balance where its very easy to fall into either over- or under-poweredness. For pve I'd like to see a rise in their overall damage so they stand out as the single target dps class and aren't so easily outshone by CW's and GWF's.

I know its probably too late and that you've already decided but I recently decided to become more active in the community. I'll also be doing the same for the cleric advocate.

Serve not know why they have changes that have been introduced on the server test.
Currently, TR can maintain invisibility virtually without hitting mobs for 24 / h to the
the Gloaming Cut does not remove the invisibility and it adds. These changes weaken again in PVE making TR
that the TAB is useless because at-will power (without Gloaming Cut) reduce the level of invisibility to 2-3 sec.
A further weakening of the PVE TR is to remove feats increasing power Duelist Flurry and Critical Teamwork.
This reduces the chance of criticism by 5% and the power of criticism by 15% (Tr under the invisibility is guaranteed criticism). Another weakness is
nerf impossible to Catch up to 50%. Of course I understand that TR is increased Dps, but what good is that if Tr under PVE
lose almost completely invisibility, a lot of criticism, and the ability with which increases its survival for PVE.
All these changes would be good if they enter them only on PVP because if you will be introduced also for PVE
instead strengthen the TR only weaken it. In exchange for slightly increased Dps, TR receives less criticism, lack of invisibility and a lower survival rate for PVE.
TR PVE play for over a year and I ask you do not do this to me .... it will destroy TR PVE
