think about the rate they're adding gear/content and what the current maxish gear score is...
right now, we're seeing matches of 10ks vs 20ks
at the rate we're going, with the lack of any bracketing in end game pvp, we'll see matches of 10ks vs 30 or 40ks....
is that something we're looking forward to?
i think we'd simply like to know if:
you're looking into it and considering changes/options
or
you're not looking into it and have no plans to do so
this information would greatly be appreciated
i just want to know if i should just look forward to a majority of imbalanced matches
this is NOT an order or ultimatum, i think the pvp community would just appreciate a response
i understand the pleasantness of keeping match pops frequent, but not at the expense of matchmaking balance

yeah, i agree. we need something. i know people complaining about long waiting before but i am sure if they know what know now, better solution is longer waiting but balanced matches ...
There are simply not enough people playing this game for matchmaking to work properly. Especially not enough people playing pvp. Unless you want 30+ min ques, but when that happened people were complaining about long ques. So it wont happen unless they focus a bit on the pvp part and attract more pvpers to their game.
Other then that, matchmaking wont work because of the population no matter what you do. You cant match all the GS/ELO rating you want. But the que time will be to high for players to accept it.
Proper gear score based brackets would actually entice more people to pvp. What we have now is a farce where you have from 9k-20k GS people all in the same match. This is frustrating for everyone. The ones getting stomped and the ones doing the stomping. When people get overly frustrated they simply stop doing an activity. Institute GS based brackets post 60 and over time a lot more people would pvp after they come to realize they stand a better chance of an even match where skill will have a much more important role as you continually face people of similar gear.

i don't think this is accurate
i'm able to log in at ANYTIME and get a pop, almost instantly
plus, i always get different players, once in a while i'll run into the same ones
so, no, hiding behind a "not enough people playing" is not a valid excuse imo
plus, i think we'd be a little more open to "longer" wait times, if it means balanced matches
i know i would....but i also am aware there exists a portion that just wants to get in there no matter the balance....which, makes me ultra sad face

they simply have to break it off into three bracktes imo
the novice [ x < 12k gs ], the amateur [ 12k < x < 16k] and the veteran [16k < x]
the way they keep going with GS, we're gonna end up seeing matches with 10ks vs 30k, or 10ks vs 40ks
imo, they have to seriously consider nipping this in the bud sooner than later...
this is the future of pvp we're looking at, 10k 60s vs 30k 60s, or worse
To everyone saying there isn't the player-base, you are aware that if they make brackets, even only two or maybe three and sending a mass email stating that they have made changes and tweaks. Since they love to do this, they could sell some stuff, glory boosters or whatever in their store. Even better would be if they would release a map, maybe make a couple tweaks to fix issues/imbalances and whala the community would come back almost overnight. A couple simple changes and some smart planning and they could really bring back a flood of players. I agree that is is past due. It should be in the next patch overdue...

This really is the truth. It's getting unreal, every single match I am in has one 20K (usually on the other side), and my 16K and 17K toons, coupled with 10-15K'ers cannot win a match. We always come close, but we're always losing. It's so unbelievably frustrating I am seriously considering leaving the game, cause all I like to do is pvp. One hunter drops their aoe on a base and that's all she wrote.
Pretty clear to me that GS-matching could at least be attempted. But they just won't do it, they don't care about the pvp community in this game. :(:(

I don't think you were here when they first introduced ELO matchmaking, people have to wait 30-45 mins on average (and even over an hour) for a pop for a PvP match.
Would u rather a crappy match, or no match?
I don't think this issue is being ignored, I believe they're working on it, but it's not as easy as we all think.
Plus they have to give some incentive for people to spend money in this game to gear up. Let's say they introduce GS bracket like you suggested. A 12k GS person is going to be happy to stay in his bracket, he's less likely going to want to improve his gear as he'll constantly be fighting against worse inexperienced players as he's the most geared in his <12GS bracket.
Then you'll still have the problem with weapon/armor enchantments and the stupid glyphs not giving GS rating. A 12k GS with perfect weapon enchant and glyphs will beat a 15k GS that has no enchants or glyphs almost every time.
Have the gear and skills, but lack the friends to play with? Come and apply for Essence of Aggression. We have been here and strong since beta. (Immature, rude, and arrogant people will not be accepted)

Ravenam has a very good suggestion along the likes of yours
Sharra Del'Armgo - SW Trapper Hybrid HR
Ogghra Bar'Ghuzumn - MI Scoundrel TR
Vænna Thrymskjöldr - IV Protector GF
