Glyphs of the same color don't stack. For example, if you have two Greater Red Dragon Glyphs slotted in, each one has a 25% chance to activate for 20 seconds. If one procs while the other is still a active, it will reset the existing duration; if one red glyph proc'd and currently has 10 seconds of Aspect of Fire remaining and your second red glyph proc'd, Aspect of Fire will be reset to 20 seconds. Basically, if you're really really lucky, your second glyph will proc right after your first glyph's 20 seconds ended, for a total of 40 seconds of uptime. If you're really really unlucky, both of them will proc at the same time and you will get only 20 seconds of uptime. Most of the time, you will get something between 20 to 40 seconds per minute of uptime.
If you want to maximize your DPS, slot in a black glyph and a red glyph and they will stack with each other. For defense, go for blue and green.
Edit: I haven't tested whether same color glyphs of different qualities (lesser and greater) stack.
