Unable to Authenticate : (bug)

Tried to log in in the past 20-30 min and I was unable to do so since the launcher states :

"Unable to Authenticate". My guildmates also have the same problem and we're all from different geographical positions as well as having a different IP/provider etc. We're not using proxy configurations nor are our routers and internet connection bad in any way. This leads me to a server-side problem with authentication. I already went and changed my password with automated password recovery. Still no luck logging in.

    The "unable to authenticate" issue is also imapcting Star Trek Online but NOT Perfect World. The issue seems isolated to Cryptic's servers and is world wide. My friends in the US, Canada, UK and Germany are all having the same issue. So without really delving into it further I believe it's safe to presume it's server-side at Cryptic and not your own computer at home.

    I have managed to enter the game after brief waiting.

    I hope that you folk also get it working :)
