With the game as young as it is, and now looking at its 5th module coming out, should the pace be toned back some? Perhaps a module evey 6 months or so?
As things sit right now, I feel like I have barely touched ToD... And now Tiamat is just around the corner. Couldn't the extra time between modules be better spent ofr fixing current bugs?
i totally agree i think it's way to soon to announce yet another module. I think it would be best to fix any and all current bugs before releasing new content. I am still excited regardless for the new Warlock paragon path however i would like to see bugs getting fixed more then a new paragon path.
If Cryptic wants to keep its licensing for WOtC then they must keep up with all the new editions and stories they put out. What little time Cryptic has in between designing for the next mod they use to help fix the game. Notice how they fix many of the issues reported so far. It might not seem like they are listening, but trust me when I say they are doing everything they can on such limited time. I am in college for computer gaming and it is -a lot- of work to simply make a 3D model.
It's highly likely that their license with WotC stipulates that content be released within a certain timeframe. It's also a byproduct of hardcore gamers and content locusts clamoring for more content.
Also, don't assume that because some bugs aren't addressed immediately that bugs aren't continually fixed. They can't stop debugging new content to focus solely on the old--it must be done as a single prioritized process. Nor can they idle some teams just to fix bugs. Game development is a continuous, dynamic process that can't always be stopped to fix an issue or two.

I disagree. I, along with a lot of people believe their license with WotC does have some impact on their releases especially on the last module.
There are a multitude of bugs that aren't fixed as well as the time it takes for them to fix gamebreaking bugs. Every game will have bugs but important ones should be fixed within a considerable timeframe. They cannot issue enough resources to fix important bugs because they are under some timeframe by WOC and PWE
Notice that Mod 4 came out the exact same day that the stuff for the current storyline was released by WotC? I do believe that the time of releases is planned by WotC entirely. PWE/ cryptic just has to go along with it or they'd lose the liscence.

Of course there is.....hence I have a hard time believing anyone would think that PWE/WOC has little to no effect on Cryptic's schedule. In fact, I believe that this schedule does not efficiently take into account the important bugs that needed fixing, features that players are clamouring for etc because of their lack of time and schedule.
Bug fixes will happen when they happen. They have to do alot of investigating on the bug. Then they have to figure out how to fix it with out breaking something else. If they are not able to do so then they will have to figure out another way. This is why some bugs are still here from the begining is cause they haven't found a way to fix it without breaking something else.

That would be a real shame if such a thing was being held over Cryptic's head: losing the license would essentially kill the game for an extended period--or permanently, depending on who owns the 3D assets. If Cryptic owns them then they would have to change all of the text, dialogue, etc., but otherwise could eventually recover. Losing the assets would outright kill NWO. As a software engineer myself I sincerely hope that some suits (who *don't* know how to create software) aren't holding Cryptic to unrealistic release schedules, though my limited experience with marketing types makes me more than a little pessimistic. I have a saying at work: there are way too many people counting beans and not enough people growing them.
It will probably take another year to fully evaluate whether Cryptic is being given a reasonable release schedule vs. available resources. As others have stated, bugfixes and creativity are two ways in which to measure it, but I'd say that the jury is still out at the moment. Regarding Hasbro/WotC, I'm still unhappy at the massive changes between 2E and 3E, and they're still "on probation" in my personal opinion.
For now, I'm giving Cryptic the benefit of the doubt.

The new module is probably part of the Tyranny of Dragons module that did not reach the launch date in my opinion, so in fact its module 4.5, so we should get it earlier. I speculate it will include both changes in DC and TR that also did not make it to the launch date of Tyranny of Dragons.
We will probably see normal longer time development for the next module with a completely different and new storyline and backdrop for a complete new module.

Well they did say to expect big things for module 6 (whether you beleive the marketing hype or not) so you could be right in that module 5 is more of an extenstion.

lewstelamon is correct here, I know of quite a number of bugs and "exploits" that have been quietly fixed. This has been an ongoing thing. Those are things most people do not know about or see. And these are never mentioned in any patch notes. The ones that can be seen by players the easiest are the ones I see people complaining about. Some "issues" just take longer to correct, that is just the way programming is. This game as others have millions and millions of lines of coding.
I can give an example as a preview tester, of an issue that was fixed with the SW during the preview testing. This was openly discussed in the preview forums. This issue was not a bug but rather an issue of each thing was WAI but with unintended consequences of how these feats and boons worked together. Through a combination of certain feats, and a certain boon...it would give a SW "god mode". Several of us tested many, many combinations out to determine just what caused it. We then knew trying to explain it in a normal bug report would not work. I got a Akrimotik (Comm mgr) (sp) to group with us so we could show him the issue. We ran E LoL. He saw the devastation. After the run, him and the group spent over an hour explaining it and going over and over what was the issue. The whole time Akri was sending emails to the devs explaining what he saw me do on preview and our test findings. This was totally game breaking in every way. It was corrected on preview the next week.
My point to the story above is sometimes just reporting a bug via the bug interface is not enough. Sometimes a PM needs to be sent fully explaining the issue and what is causing it. And this means some pretty through testing by the player/players. "bug" reports need to be complete and fully explain everything.
Disclaimer here...DO NOT TEST AN ISSUE ON THE LIVE SERVER, USE PREVIEW.

I don't think WotC can simply "pull" the license and say "screw you". A company like PWE wouldn't make an investment solely hoping that it won't happen. They must have some clauses in the contract that address this possibility and keep NW alive as it is.

Actually, as with any such contract, there are almost certainly conditions in which the contract can be broken, but a far more likely scenario is that the license holder simply does not renew it.

The only thing the past 4 modules have brough are dailies and RNG-gated loot.
Open world pvp on mod 3 was the only time they tried to introduce unique endgame.
Besides, they are releasing modules based on PWE/WOC's wishes. It is not their decision
