Angel of Protection

Today I got my 360th Ardent Coin and purchased Angel of Protection. I can't decide weather to sell it and buy refining items for the double refining weekend or keep it.

How exactly does this Activation effect work?
Does it work like old Soulforged enchantment? For how long?
I don't need to have the angel summoned to be protected, do I?

In general Angel of Protection prices seem to have been slowly fall or at best remain as the same, so I would suggest selling it, get any refining done and then buy another Angel when you can afford it.

It is not working like a soulforge enchantment - it will just give you a bonus when resurrected i think

The simple question is: do you know or think with a future character you'll ever want a healer companion? AoP is the best of all of them. True the prices in the AH are ridiculously cheap (takes you a full year to earn one of these and they sell for 500k?! LOL)

The sell price might be worth it to you, it's not to me. So as with anything in this game: you really have to decide for yourself.

If you need AD now, sell it and buy it back again later (if you ever need it).

There is a steady supply of AoP, and they are useful as healers rather than for their active bonus, thus only a fraction of playerbase will ever need it (unless they change something about non-augment companions and suddenly make them generally useful)

I.e. if at some point you could have an augment AND a normal companion summoned, then AoP prices might skyrocket.

i bought the angel, i put great hopes on this angel , now he is lvl 23,named Gabriel , the problem is this pet comes to close to u , sometimes it runs into an enemy aoe circle just to be close to you to heal. And doing this the angel dies very fast of getting agro from close mobs too.
I believe that the default cleric has a better ,improved AI and avoids better the aoe areas on the ground.
I think that the angel pet didn't got his AI improved , only some companions since open beta Neverwinter.
Yesterday i soloed the Biggrin cave and the pet was running right into that giant skeleton (final boss) just to be close to me (on the other side) and it kept pushing the boss to get close to me. A black comedy which the gamers would laugh on youtube.
A year ago the default cleric seemed to ignore the AOE areas on the ground but now is better at avoind them than the angel. I think the angel never got updates/improvements yet.
There are some cases when the angel stays far away without moving and heals but very rare.
If you ask me about the angel prices , it worth even less ,its so dumb this shortsighted pet.
    Dissapointing.

If I keep the companion, I will only use it for the active effect. I will have my stone summoned instead. That 500k AD means little to me.

All I need is for someone to describe to me exactly how the active effect works.

The angel resurrect buff is a active bonus, it need not even be summoned to get it. And yes it works with soulforged armour enchantment. When you die and get auto resurrected you get an additional hp bubble.

I was hoping it gave a few seconds of immunity. But if it only gives some extra hp, it is worthless to me (I even downgraded my Soulforged to Lesser because little extra hp was not worth it).

It kind of adds temporary HPs when resurrected... it's highly occasional (you don't die often, and if you do you're doing something wrong), not worth the active slot IMHO.

One thing I do know is that the angel of protections active bonus does not work on the fire circles that the final boss in the new skirmish throws about , the active bonus is supposed to shield you for 10% of your HP on rez but it does nothing , you rez and die instantly again .

There are a fair few complaints about damage in that fight ignoring GF block too. I wouldn't be surprised to see it going through ITC also. Something not right there.

If someone goes down on that red circle, don't bother to rez them. Each "hit" of that flame does 2000+ damage.
I guess they need to make the description of the Angel more clear. Something like "On resurrection you gain 10% of your maximum HP as temporary HP."

The other bonus it provides (at 30 iirc) is supposed to be a 5% total damage reduction; it only provides 3% though.
