Dragon Hunting Powers??

Hey fellow treehuggers!

So I'm set up for Archery, and taking down dragons is easy ( because there's normally like 17 of us vs 1 poor lizard)
But to help us get those nice great success I wanted to ask around for ideas on what would the best powers be to take down this belt stingy beast?

At-wills
Split shot - only if there are adds
Rapid Shot - while other powers are on cool down

Daily
Seismic shot - if adds
Disruptive arrow ( if I remember to have it up)

Encounters
Split the sky, Thorn ward and Rain of arrows

Here is where my doubts kick in.

Rain of arrows easy to land because they dont move

How about Thorn Ward and Split the sky? They are area affect spells but you only have one target, should I instead switch to single damage shots instead of these? Im wondering if I am wasting my time or does the dragon get hit multiple times ( and receive more damage) then if I used say Stag or Concussive shot?

I normally get a great success with my 3 AOES but I have my doubts if there's a better rotation for dragons.

Any thoughts?

it depends. i cant imagine maximum damage output without my Aimed shot spamming, conscripting and hindering for pray buff. i think its more about gear and stats. take corrupted black ice set or Grand Warden set. buy ring of pegasus for another almost +1000crit. vorpal enchant. power, crit, arm pen as big as possible...

aimed shot will net you a lot more DPS if you can manage to not interrupt it too often.

Hindering Shot for the Prey(Predator Feat) buff is unnecessary since it can only proc once every 20 seconds. I prefer Rain of Arrows, Fox Shift (melee, but a lot of damage), and Thorn Ward for the armor debuff.
    Where'd my blinky-blinky path go?

Thorn ward attacks a single target at a time so it is ok , the problem with great sucesses is that if the dragon is burst rapidly there is a very low chance to get it.

i run Commanding Shot, Thorn ward, and RoA with Aimed Shot and Seismic (even single target Seismic can hit for 20-30k)

    Thanks for the tips

I am an Archery spec'ed stormwarden. I normaly did

Rain of arrows -> Split the skies -> Thornward -> Siesmic if I had it up -> Doohicky -> Breath Flames ( artifact) -> Rapid fire

    Ill try instead next time

Seismic ( if its up) Commanding shot -> Rain of Arrows -> Thorn Ward -> Doohicky -> Breath Flames - Aimed shot

    Does that make sense?

I run 2 HRs for Dragon dailies and both use the same set-up for SW Archery: Rapid and Aimed, Rain of Arrows, Split the Sky and Thorn Ward, Hawk Aspect. Sometimes I spam Aimed for a whole fight and sometimes Rapid and the only times I don't get Great Success is when the dragons are zerged. The animation for Split the Sky is long while the range to cast Thorn Ward is short, which decreases my damage output as we do better damage the further away we are. Those two can be swapped out for faster attacks I suppose but I like TW for the Plague Fire ticks which helps reduce the CDs from Royal Guard set bonus. I tried Commanding Shot but its animation is also long and its a once-off attack where TW hits multiple times.

My favorite HR Archer at-will is: Aimed shot (up to 59k+ dps).

Must haves: aimed shot, rain of arrows and thorn ward

optional: comanding (debuffs so buffs others dps too so might want to pass if ur after greater success)
split the sky ( mostly for throw caution buffing)
Fox shift ( free dodge for those aimed shot interrupts)

I tend to go with fox mostkly coz im just doing dailies and use that for trash clearing, so odnt even bother to change skill

I'm using RoA, crippling, and TW with Disruptive ( I tested a lot on dummies, average single target 4 disruptives do more than 1 Seismic). One thing I am doing that I have not seen many others is actually using serpent. I build 2 archery charges waiting on the timer then drop RoA and TW into the dragon's landing zone when he lands hinering/ disrupt/ hindering and I now have a full melle charge. dump all encounters and a few RS and when I switch back I have a full ranged charge and RoA is up again ;) Usually that gives me a lead I can hold in DPS as I generally keep aggro in encounters where we don't outright burst the dragon down through overcrowding....

I tried Serpent, but spamming RoA, Thorn Ward and Aimed Shot from a distance and thus getting the benefit of Stillness of the Forest beats everything for an Archer.
I always get a great success as long as I´m not lag paralyzed and the dragon is melted before I can act (often happens in Whispering Caverns where my PC freezes for 10-20 seconds when the encounter starts if there are >30 participants).
    Le-Shan: HR level 80 (main)
Born of Black Wind: SW Level 80

Ill have to test 4 disruptive shots vrs seismic. Have not considered stillness

Good question. Tooltips leave something to be desired in NWO.
    Where'd my blinky-blinky path go?

CA is about impossible to parse but I would guess that it does. Every observable group effect seems to work on this principal I don't think pack is any different. Sad to say but you want to slot as selfish as possible for HEs because boosting others only reduces your own odds of getting an epic outcome.

Query, I haven't known about this before, has it been tested? Is it all about damage or are there different rankings like during dungeons? (e.g. best healing, most damage taken etc.)? I have always thought that the whole encounter feature (dragons are included) is about team work and who gets which prize is totally random.
