If it's a Rare (Blue) Task, then it is indeed completely Random.

'Wen considered the nature of time and understood that the universe is, instant by instant, recreated anew. Therefore, he understood, there is in truth no past, only a memory of the past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. Therefore, he said, the only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.' Terry Pratchet The Thief Of Time

It doesn't have a weapon enchant slot.. it also blows my mind the pricing people are selling them for..

Here are what I see are the best options in descending value of dollars.. frankly Im using a unicorn seal one until I either get my artifact or do enough to get my profound weapon.. which I normally do, except sw kind blows for pvp for me.. so really dont want to go through that much pain.

    1. Get enough unicorn seals doing t1 events or exchange with either onyx or daily coins or a mixture to get one, it has more damage and a weapon enchant slot. this is the fastest easiest way to get a purple weapon without spending 300k with a weapon enchant slot. Just swap over the extra onyx from other toons.
    2. Get lucky and get a fey/dread ring purple to drop.. these are actually better then the t1 weapons for damage, and they have a weapon enchant slot.
    3. hope you get a drop from gray wolf den or pk.. hard when your a scrub sw starting out though.
    4. get a t2 by having great people run you through edv =P.
    5. get a ancient by spending a million or more or have people run you through cn alot.
    6. Get a black ice to drop... ya good luck or
    7. use a blue till you get a artifact.. ouch.

All of the above options give you a purple weapon with a weapon enchant slot. Even a lesser terror/plague is going to give you so much more dps then using a weapon with no weapon enchant.

LOL! When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought the OP was upset over not being able to get this "Pact Blade." (damned) :)

There is no reason ever to craft the Gemmed Pact Blade. The Pact Blade of Aryvandaar has better stats, more damage, no tier 3 result (which means you can be 100% sure you'll get it and not only 60% at most) and it is a normal (not rare) task.

Unless of course, one is a completionist.
Now if completing collections actually gave an in-game bonus, that would be a good reason to craft one... :)
