I know, there's a lot of posts like this out there right now...
First, I haven't played my GF at all in mod 3. If I want to be able to PvE and PvP, is a dps path the way to go?
Second, many of the guides out there are not updated for the new mod...as far as feats go, are things mostly unchanged? Was it powers that received most of the updating?
I'd really like to give him a makeover and get playing, but I only have one respec left and I don't want to waste it, as well as AD updating gear, only to find what I've done wrong.
If you want to engage fully in Mod 4, I encourage you to take advantage of the following Encounter powers:
INTO THE FRAY is now your most offensive party buff, converting your defense into their offence while boosting Action Point gains, run speed, and temporary hit points for 8 seconds.
ENFORCED THREAT is now way better than it ever was, able to hit and mark up to 20 targets in a single stomp.
KNIGHT'S VALOR is now your most defensive buff, able to intercept half of all damage your party members receive while converting it to threat for you.
I will always prefer Cleave for trash and Tide of Iron for bosses, but I never take Threatening Rush off my left mouse button ever.
Class features are up to you, but I recommend Enhanced Mark and Guarded Assault, both of which helps ensure I hold mountains of mobs around me.
I used to use Villians Menace as an additional AOE power, but the way Knight's Valor now works, any hit on an ally can proc Supremecy of Steel, so I now use SoS on cool down.
What path of GF you choose to go is up to you and your playstyle. Most of these powers work better if you're a protector spec, but I know of friends using Conqueror for soloing and PVP while still being viable Dungeon Tanks.
