I'm absolutely LOVING the night-time skybox in PE, with the current event. It makes such a nice change from the usual perma-sunset. So I was wondering if we could one day have a day/night cycle, even if only in PE. It would add tons of atmosphere and really help to make NW more of a living world, like Norrath or Azeroth. My only criticism of NW is that it lacks a lot of the immersive qualities that would make it more than a bunch of (awesome) inter-connected zones.
A cycle would be great ,PE looks so nice at night , such a shame we only ever see night for a few days during short events.

I also would like a night/day cycle.. set for a short odd hour cycle so it doesn't gel with any region's schedule.. for fairness.
Also, someone please hang a hat over that cursed moon! It is too bright.. Night should be dark and have some surprises in it. They could even dim the name floaters (or shorten the range at which you can see them..) so you are somewhat surprised to come up on someone you know in the darkness.
Again, only in P.E. so as not to impact combat and such.

Not being sarcastic.. but what are you saying? Seriously asking..
Did you modify your settings (or the image) so that it looks that way and are suggesting it should look that way?
I can get mine pretty dark, but I prefer not to mess with my settings once I get them where I like them. But even so, the ground close to you remains lit up like a used car sales lot.. Most modern cities aren't that bright. haha
That looks better than what I am seeing.. but there is no reason for the bridge to be that bright.. I'd like to see it like- 'uh, oh.. it's dark on this bridge.. no torches or braziers here. Better watch my step!'

The Devs have done a good job with the night time in PE. While they could increase the frequency with which night falls in PE, it shouldn't happen to often, otherwise it would lose the effect. I will also say the Devs have done a great job with the fireworks. I like the Dragon that ends the show, but the other designs they have created are pretty cool as well.

Wait what, a dragon?
When and where exactly does it fly?

The event had ended maybe 30 seconds prior. I was heading from the area just in front of Rhyx to the steps that lead up to the event person. I was about half way there, when it flew directly over me from behind. It was relatively low, and looked pretty freekin cool. =D It pretty much seemed to span the entire enclave, in a straight line.

Dam, I wanna see that, it happens right after the fireworks end right?

+1..I'd love to have the night sky view more often. In fact, 24 hour cycles (that is right..24 hours of day and 24 hours of night), so that people from all timezones get to experience it. And have the effects on multiple zones.

I'm saying that it is beautiful, though you are correct when you say it is too bright. The stars and the moon are very well done however.

I'd love a day-night cycle. Not just for PE, but for every other map as well. There's no actual gameplay in PE, so I see no reason it should be restricted to PE alone. It could simply be based on your local time -the clock under the map-.
Seriously, when an ancient Gameboy game has day/night cycles, why can't a modern game have it standard?

I'm fairly certain that the time of day/lighting on each map was picked to set a certain mood or to match the questline. Velosk is always night, appropriate for werewolves and shadows. PE is evening, as adventurers return after long days at 'work.'

Bingo! This is a theme park game after all. Cant fault them for wanting to set each areas theme.
I also believe that, this is a concession made for the foundry as well. By allowing each map to have its own time of day set by the author. It allows a bit more control in telling a story.
So while i'm sure Cryptic could put in day/night cycle in PE. After all CO's Millenium city has it. I'm not sure how that would impact foundry missions set in PE. And any changes made might complicate or outright break existing missions.

Very good point. That hadn't occurred to me (as far as P.E. goes.) The other zones I understood.

True. At least for a few maps. Graveyards in broad daylight would only lessen the flavor of the area. And it would also be pointless for places like Whispering caverns and the like as they are underground. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice for certain maps. IWD, Sharandar, DR, Helm's Hold and Rothe Valley would probably look stunning under a full moon.
As an alternative to day and night cycles, maybe they could implement weather changes?
Yes, keep the established skyboxes for the zones, because they set the mood nicely. But having a day/night cycle in PE, one could easily justify by saying, 'Oh, I've been out of the city for a few days/hours doing this other stuff'. You know, RP it a bit. Might be a bit of a stretch when transitioning to and from some of the Foundry Qs, but imho it would be totally worth it.
Also - weather! I remember when WoW added weather effects, that was brilliant. Anything really, just to make the world come alive a little more.

Night time enclave is the best place in the entire game, no contest lol. I absolutely love it. Too bad it'll be gone in 2 days

I'll check it out tomorrow ^^
For the best viewing either watch from the Garden or from the Market. Look in the direction of the Platform, slightly above the roof tops.

Why do we only get to see the gorgeous night time graphics maybe 2-3 times a year?
Let us enjoy that material!
