[Suggestion] Warlock's Dreadtheft skill

rado84rado84 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I noticed some strange things about the Dreadtheft skill. For example, if you use it against an enemy in a straight line in front of you and the enemy tries to flank you but dies while doing it, the beam remains at that direction regardless of the direction you're moving your character.
So my suggestion is to give the player a little more control over the direction the beam strikes. This can be done in 2 different ways:
A) If the enemy dies and the player aims at another enemy and left-clicks to attack the new target, the beam could redirect itself to attack the new enemy on which the player has clicked on.
B) If the enemy dies, the beam could simply "jump" at the nearest target.
Whichever way you choose to apply, it would still make the beam much more effective.

I don't know whether you understood what I suggested but I can't explain it any better than that.

it actually can target another enemy i dont think its WAI however as it seem you can eldritch blast other enemies as you are using it then it spins around to the enemy you have been hitting

i think it should work more like a spraycan and the fact you cant use pots when you have it cast is so anoying also it hits everything ignoring height completly which means with some mobs you can be out of range of their skills but they cant do the same

No, it can't. You have no idea how many times I walked towards the enemy I wanted to strike but the beam was stuck in another direction which also slows down my run speed. Eventually, maybe, it aims at the new target but only does that just a second before the time runs out and before it does that it just keeps striking the void and I have to force it to stop (Shift + a directional key is the only way to stop the beam), so that I can attack the enemy with another skill.
I'll make a video of the problem and you'll see.

ok what you do is cast dreadtheft then move your reticicle to another enemy and hold the mouse button down(i hold the mouse even when im in dreadtheft to then move to other enemys) you will continue hitting the other enemy and the dreadtheft will switch to the new enemy

also you can cancel the dreadtheft by hitting the button you cast it with moving to another enemy with it as i said i dont think it is intended to work that way but it is possible to do

I'd like to point out that if you don't want to keep casting Dreadtheft, all you need to do is tap the key you have it connected to again. This doesn't work within the first second and a half (to prevent accidentally deactivating it right after it's started and thus wasting an encounter), but anytime after that all you need to do is push the key again and it'll shut down, allowing you to control the ability to walk and run and such. It also cancels if you sprint.
