So people are still able to avoid a loss on the leaderboard tally if they do a certain something before the match ends and their disconnected but doesn't get kicked.
Leaderboard data has again been compromised and just get rid of it already please.
Tear Down that Wall!!... err Board!! It doesn't add any kind of positive to the game. In fact the amount , and effort put in to doing whatever it takes to win, get many kills and not die only increases. Gotta get up there on that leader board. But Why?
We don't get anything for it. It leads to misconceptions about balance, because people are doing whatever it takes to get up in the lead.
I am seeing a lot of questionable actions in regards to where people are standing within domination matches. They are at places that are obviously not meant to be able to get to. For the most part the Leader Board has only helped to erode the PvP community and the enjoyment of the game.

Make an extra leaderboard for solo and /or duo Q only with disabled bufffood and reset it every new module. Then give the ones on top places some prizes otherwise I see no use for a leaderboard.
We all know the leaderboard is not even close to being a representation of solo skill in PVP. So why are these threads being created?
There seem to be people that actually care about the leaderboard, which is quite confusing honestly.
The problem is not with the leaderboard itself. The problem is what behavior the leaderboard creates in players. Personally, I do check my position in the leaderboard mostly to just see if I'm still in the top 5 pages, but I don't let it control my behavior. I don't disconnect from a losing team, or only go premade, etc. This is not the case for everyone, though. It's pretty often that you see someone that is highly ranked on the leaderboard disconnect very early in a match if they can see it's going to be a loss. Or disconnect late in a match if it looks close and they're unsure of their victory. After the leaderboard was introduced and I was still gearing up, I actually had a player offer me gold in exchange for me dropping because we were going to lose and he thought my low GS would make him take a bigger standings hit than if I was just gone from the group. In all probability, much of this behavior would not exist if there was no leaderboard.
Because of the inherent flaws in designing an individual leaderboard that is weighted heavily to win-loss ratio for a team based activity where you generally don't know what kind of teammates you are going to get, it probably would be better to get rid of it altogether. But considering it's very existence comes at the request of the "PvP Community", I doubt very much it will go away.
It just blows my mind. People knowingly doing things that are obviously not intended just so they can win and get their characters name on a list that most people don't look at is just beyond sad.
LOL loboguild and yuccapalm. Those comments are gold.
Maybe if they change what gets you on the leaderboard it would be better. Things like. Time spent Contesting, Number of Caps, Number of times defended a controlled node. Stuff that actually has to do with the real meat and potatoes of what Domination is. Not rewarding "I have better gear than you so I am the best there ever was / Oh no Im losing Ill just quit and sit at spawn and the d/c to avoid a loss on my uberpro record." type of play.
although the leader board probably helps to drive sales. So... yea.... it probably isn't going anywhere. Because what you can't overcompensate for with your skill and crappy gear you can speed along with the power of cash. And voila OMG You're on the first page of the leader board.

Or just make leaderboard based on points like you get in a domination. Add them up and who has the most is top. There would be no point in not fighting then. You could also have a tab for kills, wins, assists. Remove the deaths and loses so people would not care if they lose or die and would be more willing to help the team.
The problem is the leaderboard is encouraging poor sportsmanship.
-people quit early and don't try if they get a death.
-people leave early and abandon the team if a loss is coming.
Two of the big ones
The whole PVP system is encouraging poor sportsmanship. The points system and PVP campaign does not credit actions well enough that contribute a ton to winning, like challenging nodes.
That's why we are all rooting for core changes that separates competitive PVP and adds a whole lot more significance to any ranking.

It's not how many people look at it, it's which people are looking at it. I guarantee you that high end PvP guilds monitor it. I'm not justifying the behavior, but the leaderboard is not irrelevant to all.

Not a bad idea, but you could be just swapping one set of troubles for another. A person wanting to rack up kills might not bother contesting nodes. A person that doesn't care about losses might let nodes get capped by the other team so they can cap it back for the 300 points. Etc.
Like the PvP community had a sense of sportsmanship before the leaderboard.. Same old behavior of people who hate to lose. It's been around since NW launched. They either hide behind overgearing their opponent and get out if they cannot. Nothing new.
I agree the leaderboard doesn't improve things, but it's nothing we're not used to already.
That's a pretty broad brush. Not all of the dedicated PvPers out there are ******bags, just like not all of the dedicated PvE players are whiney carebears.

Don't worry about the leaderboards, i pm'd a dev about this a few days ago, and he said they were working on a fix, and on top of the fix, whoever cheated by disconnecting at 970pts to avoid the loss/kills/deaths counting, their entire scores will be reset.

Yea d00d my dad works at Cryptic and told me they gonna reset those meanies scores!!!
The people glitching losses should be obvious. People who solo queue with only 5 losses? Yea nah. Non-CW with 70 games and 1200 kills? Yea nah. People who were 40W-20L and are now 80W-20L? Yea nah. AKA Arcanty, Hulkster one, XfactorX, GODMODE, and Valar.
running around and never capping lool
which top tr did u kill 1v1
i know that build.......u just leave
when real tr comes on cap
so before calling out any tr u should proly beat one 1v1 with
full hp ,not coming to only daily him
Like the PvP community had a sense of sportsmanship before the leaderboard..
Yes, they had and they still do. Why do you judge a whole community?

Judging peeps on the forums without any proofs is always easy isn't it?
those guys on top of leaderboard run with premades most if not all the time....
I've no idea where you get your information from but being on the first page of the leaderboards is easily done by solo-queuing or duo-queuing. You can also avoid dropping by using the command /force_logout or getting 0 points. Exploiting/Bugging the leaderboard is not that hard...
These bugs have been around since the Leaderboard was announced.

Just ask for a scheduled rainbow premade and you won't be disappointed. The actual pvp community is kinda small but still great and helpful.

Maybe they'd rather kill 100 Nashers than play one game that is virtually meaningless? Sounds good to me.
It's not about PVP, it's about the leaderboard.
