M4 Melee HR PVE

I've been testing melee feat tree lately and I'm quite confused.
First, melee doesn't deal as much damage as Archery tree. And I am speaking about AOE trashpacks, where Archery still isn't really as awesome as it is vs large single target enemies. Melee single target damage is actually next to zero. Sad but true.
Second, large lifesteal values are nice. I have 34.8% lifesteal while in combat, spinning amidst five enemies and constantly hitting them with CTG. Solotanking six elite Corrupted bears is nice indeed. However ANY PBAoE and ANY crowd control literally instagibs me despite me having over 20k GS.

Also I am not sure Perfect Vorpal is the most optimal enchantment for Melee tree. Arhery obviously goes for P.V., nuff said, but for Melee it's not that awesome. My crit is currently at 35% or so (given that they removed +10% crit passive from Melee feat tree) and Vorpal damage bonus is in fact quite whimsical. So now I am curious if I should pick some other enchant for that.
I also have a P. Lifedrinker and I gave it a try. Sadly, it only deals average of 55 damage per hit and heals for that much. It cannot possibly be compared with the lifesteal healing I receive from my atwill hits, given that I have nearly 3k Lifesteal. Also Lifedrinker doesn't proc off "piercing damage" weapon hits.
So if anyone out there has any better ideas, I am up for hearing them.

I've threatened Ghostcrawler and got permabanned at Blizzard forums.
I went mad at PL "community" in SWTOR and got permabanned.
Believe me, you don't want to see the tickets I used to sent to CCP. I got permabanned from EVE.
I was infuriated by the amount of autists in League of Legends and got permabanned. Twice.
Cryptic, here I go.
Lo and behold.

Plague fire sounds ideal for a combat stormwarden. Debuff entire blob with wide reaching AoE. Make those who would otherwise despise you, dig with it.

as a melee you definitely aren't doing yourself any favors with a P. vorpal

like ghoulz said - you may want a plaguefire

or anything with +20% weapon dmg - if you're really intent on AOE dmg a lightning maybe.. but that won't do you any favors in single target combat

The melee tree looks pretty enticing with the 40% piercing dmg, and a lot of buffs to AoE with it as well.. I guess it depends on what skills you're using and feats.. seems it would be pretty hard to figure ou the best to go with

single target - Rapid Strike + Aimed Strike rotation + for encounters.. Rain/Fox cunning/?

I was never big on melee but I am pretty big on utilizing both stances even as a full archery build.

for AoE I'm guessing Twin Blade Storm + Blade Storm, single target Aspect of the Serpent+?

I think many people aren't too sure on builds atm, there's a ton of variety right now to go with even if you go full archery / full melee / full trapper.. even within those builds there's a lot of things to choose from.

I'll be testing my own builds on arhcery/melee as time goes on.. not too interested in trapper as I don't like the PVP on this game very much.

I pretty much stick with rain of arrows/swords, Fox shift, Thorn ward and rapid/Ctg. Nothing can really compare.

Aside from Thorn ward, the rest can hit multiple things at once. Combat can face tank much better now, so it's even easier to use thorn ward/rain of arrows. Fox cunning not useful at all tbh, but Shift lets you remain in their face and evade AoE. Gives you all you need, AoE and single target.

Tried flurry with aimed strike, but really didn't notice a big difference over a flurry rapid. Sometimes the flurry didn't even activate with it. Honestly, I find it the least effective DoT at-will. Brand of the sun and disheartening strike are much faster.

Right. This just went horribly wrong.
I was metely asking for enchantment opinions. Its not like I, of all people, would require assistance in building my feat trees or anything else.

So far I've been thinking about Plaguefire, Terror and Lightning chants. Lightning is, well, decent. Plaguefire stacks up to three times, but Melee HR hits a lot faster than 3 strikes per 3 seconds, therefore flat damage difference between Terror and PF would yield better results in favor of Terror.
Defense reduction is the other thing. I don't know if I even need that, since I already have approx. 30% resistance ignore from my stats. Considering all that it might be wise to find an enchantment that deals flat steady damage per every hit.

...or I might just revert back to Archery. Duuuh.

The defense reduction from PF isn't the same as armor penetration.

Lightning is bis for a combat hr, just make sure to keep dropping ranged thornwards and then going to melee fox shifting and stuff and you do rather well and depending on where the mobs are clear the ground and split strike is your best atwills.

I tried melee in preview for a while, and melee no longer relies heavily on crits to do damage, its more of a 1000 small cuts that will still not do enough damage :P

IMO Terror/Lightning, since there are so many plaguefires out there already.

But that depends on who you run with.

I've been running archery but honestly never dropped the habit of tab spamming for all encounter burst. PTerror has served me well in this. I'm curious about ligtning but hesitant to make the investment.

Been running Bilethorn for both PVE and PVP.

I'm able to stack up procs extremely fast with a specific method, which makes the damage significant.

Interesting, mind sharing the specific method?

Too lazy to replace my vorpal. 8 Coal wards, still too lazy and cheap.
