PRO TIP:Invoke *Before* Update Begins

This is a BIG update folks. The forums often flood with "I'ma gonna lose my coins!!!"

It's always best to logout at a campfire. This way, you can get in, invoke, get out quickly (especially if you have a lot of alts). If you can't get in then use Gateway to invoke *before* update begins (remember: Gateway will go down with the sever) to extend your invoking timer. You won't get new coins, but you won't lose what you have.

Also, many (not all) classes will get a forced feat-respec, you don't want to be in an encounter-spawning area when you log back in and can't actually engage them.

Because this is a new module, update is planned to be longer than usual and could be even longer than that. So prepare yourselves.

REMEMBER: After an update it takes a while for servers to "stabilize" so there will inherently be a lot of lag. Additionally, a LOT of players will swarm-in to play the new content, new class, and new race - so expect a helluvalot more lag than usual after an update. Though we'll still see a LOT of complaints on the forums about how Cryptic needs to fix their server. :\

There are a lot more tips on things you can do to prepare yourself for such a big update, but I'll leave those to any who which to contribute in this thread.

This is good advice. It had just occurred to me too so i decided to log-in and mass invoke all my toons so I don't lose my Celestial coins.

It would be nice though if Cryptic arranged it so that the Celestial countdown was paused during maintenance periods....

I do my praying for the day before I head off to bed, not when I wake up. I highly doubt maintenance would ever last THAT long.

I do mine in mid-afternoon or early evening (Eastern), so unless maintenance lasts over 12 hours I'm covered. I could see it being an issue for those who invoke/profess before heading out to work, though, especially those who live on the U.S. West coast since it starts at 0700 there.

It doesn't. But it was Mod 1 or 2 where there was an "emergency" maintenance in the afternoon and a lot of people in your exact same position were fought off-guard and lost their coins. However, I agree - the evening before should suffice as we a full 30-hours from last invoke. However, there always seems to be some people who get caught in the net.

On Gateway go to Sword Coast Adventures and go to "Temple of Reflection". When you complete that you extend the Invoke timer by 30-Hours. Always useful if you find yourself unable to get back in-game before losing your coins. Note that you do not get Invoke rewards (like XP or coins) - but it does extend the timer for you (think of it as a timer "pause" button).
