From my understanding, and based on the tooltips provided in-game: Arcane Coffers are supposed to give a different tier of rewards based on the level of the gauntlet. I.E: Silver gauntlets get lower tiered loot, while Platinum gauntlets gave better rewards and a chance at the artifact.
I recently teamed up with a friend who has the silver gauntlet. I have the platinum gauntlet. We have been doing Lair of the Day runs at the Dread Ring for several days now, and I noticed that my coffer loot was horrible. Recalling there was a coffer issue long ago that was supposedly fixed, I did a brief test:
Test 1: Solo'ed Dread Spire, opened the arcane coffer, and received a Bloodthief Shard.
Test 2: Next I teamed up with my friend, and we did Phantasmal Fortress. He opened the coffer first, then me. We both received Lesser Marks of Potency.
Test 3: Next day, we both did Phantasmal Fortress again. I opened it first, received a Peridot, and so did he.
Based on the above, I am assuming the coffer might be bugged. Neither he nor I are willing to spend AD to get more Thayan keys, or time to test this out further. I do not have other friends to test it out with as they have already left the game.
I understand that the loot is luck based, so our very narrow scope of testing is unlikely to be accurate - it may just be bad luck, rather than a bug. Therefore, I am posting this here to bring attention to this issue, and to see if anyone else has encountered the same issue, and perhaps someone else with more resources could do a more comprehensive test. Thank you.

It is not bugged.
I run it in duo every day and while most of the time we both receive peridots, its usually different loot.
It is the problem that was supposed to be fixed in a previous patch, where the first person that opens the gauntlet sets the loot table/rewards for all others that subsequently open it. Let me elaborate:
- If a player with the silver gauntlets opens the chest first, everyone else that opens it subsequently will receive the silver gauntlet tier of rewards. If you have platinum or other levels of the gauntlet, you'll still only get the silver tier rewards.
- If a player with the platinum gauntlets opens the first, everyone else will also benefit from the improved loot that the platinum gauntlet rewards, despite having lower tier gauntlets.
- Hence, in my first test, I made sure that my friend opened the first chest (I received bad loot that shouldn't be in the loot table for platinum gauntlets). On our second run, I opened it first and he benefited from better loot.
- This was fixed a long time ago in a patch. I am unable to search for that specific patch on the forums, sadly, and have no link to it. However, the devs or a moderator should be able to recall this issue.
If you have trouble stopping the redirection, I have copied the relevant section. Under the "Content and Environment" section:
- The Dread Ring Arcane Coffer at the end of a Lair can now only be interacted by one play at a time but will now give rewards based on the gauntlet used to open it and not the lowest quality gauntlet used to open it.
I did not test if the coffer can only be clicked by one player at a time or not, but I assume that is working fine. The problem I am reporting is that the rewards based on the gauntlet used to open it is not fixed, or was fixed and then reverted to incorrect coding.
Same but that affects other epic dungeon chests, affects arcane coffers. It started at same time and effect is almost similar with some variations - loot is changed sometimes, but list of possible loot is limited to 3-4 items. Fortunately one of them is Mark of Potency

+++OUT OF CHEESE ERROR
More on topic, I'm kinda glad that I am done with DR on my chars now, it seems to have been nerfed quite badly of late, when it's working properly..
