I don't understand the latest moves done by PWE/cryptic (not sure where the decisions are made so from now on I'll say PWE cuz easier to type) Coal wards, keys etc, no longer saleable on the TH. That makes no sense to me from a money grubbers perspective. I was going to buy 40 keys to sell on the TH just to make some AD which I would have used to upgrade my companions. Now that revenue is lost to them. And the people that would have bought my keys are people that, for the most part weren't going to buy zen anyway.
Now I quit playing SWTOR to play NW because I like the sword and sorc environment better but I may go back because of the way the econ is there.
I mean you basically have to separate players from FTP and PTP players. In Swtor ftp players work grinding out/farming supplies that PTP players want but would rather spend money on than get it themselves. This makes the ftp players happy and the PTP players happy, yes there are some things you just have to buy but not essentials.
Now when I got over the gold is not the money thing and AD's were the currency. I had it figured out I spend zen to get things other players will spend ads on. That gets my money and the FTP players generate the motivation for me to spend that money. Now with almost everything worth anything on the ZM not saleable (sellable?) there is no real motivation for me to spend anymore money.
So to sum up PWE is losing money from me that I would have spent. If I'm big money grubbing PWE how does that make sense?
I personally think selling keys was a good way to move money and help the economy too, but since the change was made to make them bound to you as soon as you buy them, I must be wrong.
I think, to help eliminate the ZAX backlog, we need to be able to buy everything in the zen store for AD in game. Its the only viable solution I can think of that would make most people happy. But there are downsides to this as well, like making the ZAX almost totally unused.

The problem with the zax backlog WAS people buying keys and selling them. And now doing the same with coal wards. People bought keys, sold them on the AH bypassing the 1 to 500 restriction on zen to ad put in the zax. They would take their AD put it back in the zax, buy more keys, sell them again, etc. The zax restriction was meant to make it so people couldn't extort the market for a super high price. Being able to sell things over the exchange directly into the AH caused people to stop selling their zen for AD on the exchange.

okay but I still don't get it, if , for example, a key costs 125 zen = 62,500 ads ( @ 500 for 1 zen) then why would any idiot spend more than 62500 at the TH for a key? when you could just trade your ads in for zen and buy a freaking key from the ZM, seems like that would limit the price of things. And I just use a key for example. It figures that anything sold at the ZM should sell for less at the TH than what you could trade ads for on the zen market, did i say that right? I'm confused, is it better for PWE for things bought with ZEN to sell for More on the TH or less.
I see many times things that cost 25k and 100k at the bazaar ingame on the TH for more than they cost, what up? why would you pay more when you could trade less in ad's for zen or less in ADs if you just walk over to the bazaar, I've seen marks of potency on the TH for 29k and they COST 25k
The average player lacks information. They don't know the prices, or even the existence of the Bazaar, They have no idea about how the zen market is functioning either.
And humans being what they are, they is a full supply of other players ready to exploit them.
That's why there are a few limits. The fact the zen market has a limit or the existence of the fixed prices at the Bazaar at least function as some kind of anchors as the exploiters keep these prices as some kind of reference.

Some players lack the forethought to check around to see if what they want can be acquired through a vendor and the AD exchange doesn't do anyone any good if all the players buying zen are instead using it to buy items on the zen market to sell for far more AD than they could ever get through using the exchange.
