The new sets are incredibly underwhelming not because of the raw stats but the set bonuses are bad and not balanced. It's ridiculous that CW get 10% Recharge speed and HR get 5% AP Gain...I mean...hello? But Warlock 3% lifesteal and GWF 3% armpen really set the bar.
What's sad is that we only get stats instead of fun new and intricate set bonuses...
But of course, it's all still in preview, it can still be subject to change. Just my 2 cents!

I think part of the appeal of the new armor sets is that they come with overload slots. And if you've seen the new dragon marks that drop in the skirmish and dungeon, they can make the armor ridiculously powerful.

BI has overload slots and more interesting set bonuses.

I agree with the more interesting set bonus part of the BI set (though why they're the same across the board, I'll never understand). The empire sets are supposed to make rainbow parties more appealing, but they fall short of that. The main difference between Empire set and BI set is that the Empire set doesn't require constant infusion of materials for the overload slots. (I think it loses a slot in return, idk though).
Basically the stats of the armor might need tweaking, but it's the set bonuses that need real work. I'm all for them boosting rainbow group efficacy, but they aren't there yet.

The thing is, in my eyes, the GF Empire/Draconic Set is very interesting. It finally doesn't overload TOTALLY on Defense, has Deflection on it for once, and adds stats like Lifesteal and Regeneration. The Armor itself is interesting, the 2/4 Bonus is also 'fine' (no more GS inflation), but on some classes, the 4/4 seems lackluster.

Well as hr i rather get 5% ap gain then 150 control bonus as the ice set gives -- CONTROL BONUS FOR A HR talk about devs on crack its like giving gf range bonus or cw 2h bonus boggles the mind what the can come up with..............

yeah new sets are useless buffs they provide are way to low and unbalanced all classes get 5-10% team buffing while gwf set improves arp for 3%
