What is the purpose of having ability to buy 2nd copy of PvP banner artifact for 40k glory? Is it BOA so that I can send it to my alt? Or can I slot two same artifacts at the same time?
Refining material. If you get it to level 59 or below and then use it as refining material for an artifact of the same type (union, power, etc) you get ~4x the refining points instead of 2x.

I see. Thx. I was not much into these Artifact to Artifact refining mechanics yet, since I got only one of Cragmire Barrow artifacts, which I want to keep and then the Vault of Nine artifacts, that are not usable for refining, afaik.
So going back to this refining. What is the Glory to RP ratio then? Isn't it more efficient to use Blood Raven Skull when it costs less Glory? Or does it give back less RPs? I'm bit puzzled...
Edit: Ah, so I have vanguard's banner, which is artifact of power, so it'd be better to use skull instead for it is cheaper artifact of power in terms of glory. But in case I wanted different type of artifact (union or stability), I'd have to get banner copy, coz there's no cheaper alternative in glory shop.
Still wondering about the Glory to RP ratio. Surely someone did the math before ... can you share it, please?
Are all the RPs invested in consumed artifact used for the new one (and multiplied x4), or is there some rounding down at certain boundaries or magnitudes?
Its on a diminishing returns setup where the cost just gets less and less worth it after lvl 59. As for the raven artifact, its a Power so it can only help with leveling other Power artifacts. If you have a different type of artifact, you need a different one as the offering.

You can surely calculate the glory/rp gain yourself. Match the fodder artifact type to the one you intend to level, so raven for power and the various banners for union and stability.

Thx. I added columns for yielded RP value per Glory spent on the artifact:

Your formula is wrong. Yielded RP value per glory should count after subtracting the RP invested inside.
Formula should be: Match RP of rank X - RP invested to rank X = Y bonus RP, then this Y value is compared to the glory spent to buy the artifact.
