I am having two issues at the moment while trying to make a new Foundry quest.
1) My test character does not work. Anytime I respec and try to apply new feats, powers, and stats, they are immediately erased and I can not slot anything. If I try to switch to a different character, their shift functions will work as the previous class (If I respec from a fighter to a thief, my thief will try to guard when I want to dodge). This makes testing my encounters impossible. Is there a fix to this? I've tried killing myself, resetting everything, but nothing works. This happens with any foundry quest.
2) I want to setup a friendly encounter that will follow the PC around to provide help. I've seen this done in other Foundry quests. I have a friendly encounter (adventurer) set to Follow, but they do not follow the PC. Is there something I'm missing?
I want to echo point 2. I have a friendly encounter set to follow who is not following either. And he didn't follow when I ran it live, either. He only followed as far as the enemy encounters did. As soon as there were no more enemies nearby, he stood still & wouldn't move.
you have to set the follow parameters in 2D layout mode.
Also i dont think you can change your character, the first ever one you picked is the one you are stuck with. respecing just gives you a bugged one i believe. I have tried to find this delete option but I can't see it, i think this bug has been since launch.
Yeah I think that should have fixed it. Found them in layout mode, and the parameters for "follow" were set to "never" by default. It should work properly now. Thanks maegmaag and grimah!
Yeah this bug had been around since beta, basically you can respec your character all you want as long as you don't go to lvl 30 and pick your advanced Tree. As soon as you lock in an advanced tree at lvl 30 you are that class forever. So you'll have to swap back to whatever you were initially when you first chose an advanced class, then log fully out and come back in. You should then be able to train and use your skills properly again.
Like the 2nd point was figured out, for some reason they start set to follow as never follow by default, which you know makes sense. I love choosing follow when I really just wanted them to stand around and do nothing

Exactly. Goes right along there with the decision to make projectors point into the sky by default.
It's the Cryptic way.

At least at one point, follow worked only on live quests, not in foundry.
