Hi! all

This might be too stupid, repeated question so sorry about that but....

K so i had a free respec on my CW..the very 1st one after that one i have to buy the token to respec

I sorta remember i had 1 on my GWF too but im not sure of that as even though i remember i did just look for it and never found it..so its either a bug or am i wrong somewhere about something!?

Isn't it so that u get 1 free respec for a '1st time' use then u buy to respec further!?...if not how did my CW have 1 from the starting (not just lvl60 but had it during lvling from the lowest posssible level) and then there is that fact of remembering but not seeing any free respec on my GWF too.. o.O

I know im missing on some update news or fact or something related to this 'free respec' issue of mine..

Please do lemme know about this.

Thx
Ash

Never got a free respec since I started playing (around October 2013).

Got one token with the first time buyer's bundle, but that's about it.

Free respecs were given out for a big patch around the end of Beta, and at the launch of Mods 1 and 2. Any character who was in existence at those points would have gotten a free respec. Otherwise, any respec tokens would have come from the Zen store or from a promo or something.

As pitshade said, free respecs were given out for launch and at the release of Module 1 and Module 2.

No free respecs are given to characters based on levels or any other means. If you want to respec you must pay the Zen unless major changes are made to classes and are only given to existing characters to compensate for any cause for you to wish to change your character's class build or playstyle.

I've never seen a game by another company that is F2P that takes things to such extremes to punish free players. Yes, technically everything here is free, and you can do everything without paying a dime (although someone at some point had to spend a dime for you to be able to get it free, but that's another story). But you are going to be put through hell for it.

I was under the impression you got a free one at level 60. Guess that's out the window also.

You really should get one at 60 for free at least, you could get one for free with mod 4, but who knows.

getting a free respec at level 60? r u serious? u only get free respec when major changes affect ur class.if u dont plan how to spend ur power points why should the company give u a free respec for that.its ur own fault for messing ur powers up u should buy from zen store and f2p doesnt mean the devs and cryptic stuff run on corn oil

For one, I don't see how 1 free respec at max level diminishes your experience at all. In fact, it helps you out, as more people will have proper specs.

2 - I have a pretty good idea from experience how much money people will toss at games like this, and it would likely blow your mind. Suffice to say money doesn't mean as much to some as it does to others.

3 - I think its pretty cruel to make someone level to 60, essentially in MMO terms "learning the game", and then say "Well, you should have researched your character better before you played and known how you were going to play in the future..so haha, pay a couple bucks or else stick with your non-optimized character).

I don't think 1 free respec on a character that you have spent time and energy on learning to play it is to much to ask. I'll probably just stick with whatever I end up on and do the best I can...but I don't think thats the thought process a game maker wants to enforce.

If you're levelling a character to 60, in general you're not going to know what skills are most effective or what you're doing. Also HRs got a complete new path to take, they didn't get a free respect token despite every other class getting one. GWFs got big changes in mod 3 too and didnt get anything forcing people to buy respec tokens because of their balance decisions. It's funny how most other games charge way less than this game, I guess they must partially run on corn oil.

Huh. In my experience with f2p games, getting free respecs is pretty rare. Normally, that's one of the big "pay" items. I would never expect a free respec in any f2p game I was playing.....

(And a lot of those other games don't have any way to exchange in-game currency for cash-shop currency. Which means you have to pay $ to respec. No farming up gold/AD/whatever for it.)

I think it is rather silly not to give out a free respect to players especially when they change a class around.
But in regards to people leveling to 60 and not knowing what skills/abilities are most effective.....clearly they must not know how to Google.

So any news on whether module 4 will contain a free respec ? panderus said they only wanted to give them away with big changes but then they refused to give them even for the new HR paragon path , do we think module 4 changes are big enough for a free respec? if not idc since I still have one from my first time buyers pack but it would be a nice gesture xD

Interesting. So your theory is that google will allow me to know what it feels like to play a particular class? How they interact with other characters, how needed they are in groups, etc.

Fascinating :) Wonder why you'd ever play the game if you can experience the game through Google.

I do a ton of research on characters because I know games like this are going to milk every dime out of you, but it is impossible to find someone who plays just like you do via google. Especially in this game, which seems to go out of its way to not to use the tried and true MMO concepts (weird controls, low number of active spells, odd talent trees, no true healer..etc) and be different.

Paying for respecs is probably a fact of life, but I again dont think 1 at 60 would kill anything. On the other hand, if this was your game, you'd probably charge for everything too.
