K so if you were to choose between a pve build Devoted Cleric or a pve build Trickster Rogue for your 2nd/3rd char which one would it be and why!?...and i don't mean just "coz i prefer or choose to." but why would u find 'the class u choose' more fun and worth playing through all the way till lvl60 and putting all that energy (again)? coz i have a CW and a GWF and was just wondering if i should truly (wanna/find it worth to) go doing the same quests and drag myself through till lvl60 of either one of em (and which one if so?)...
Well i think i know what u wanna say i too think the same (HRs and TRs are pve typos till they reach lvl60 then pure pvp...and a huge NO for PVE....sadly for some who have the char(s) no troubles for others) i havent tried any of those 2 so i asked around and people said TRs can actually be pve based with right specing and stuff (and that was on zone chat just before i was about to start the DC char) so now i got a tet bit confused and came here
In my last several months of pugging, I have run into one (and only one) TR who made me say "whoa, that guy is actually doing really good damage." So it is possible but just very, very, very rare.

if u want to pve thats easy(if by that u mean dungeons of any kind)
look at lfg channel for a week(every so often) u will see
lf cw,gwf,dc even gf sometimes or hr but rare
but....
if u see a single lf tr in a week then you can roll a tr lol.
last time i saw that was couple months ago when people run fh.
tr is a fun class
has best single target dmg
and most people like to have one or two in a group
in mod 4 they will be even more wanted coz cws are getting aoe nerf
and trs will be top dps in the game.

look mom i can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
thats tru (abt CW nerfing)...im still a lot pissed about it...they already nerfed CW with master of flames abilities to 30% now they wanna nerf further...my CW will be the least exciting after mod4..hope warlock can suffice for it though (will definitely be trying it...that same why i tried my hands on a HR and deleted it in a few days or trying)

TR is indeed a fun class, but they are not the best single target damage (was once long ago but haven't been in a long time).
Well it's true. Let me show you the PoV of a mob that tries to fight a TR:
Imagine 3 goblins sitting around a fire, in happy spirits, each trying to poke a stick through some wildlife they trapped for supper.
Goblin 1: "what a good day for keep.."
Goblin 2: "Whut? Speak up!"
When he gets no reply he looks to his left, stares for a second while he tries to remember the name of the goblin he was supposed to be looking at and who strangely enough, was not there to look back at him. A little confused at failing to do so, he prods his college on the right with an elbow and grunts: "Hey, where did he go?"
Goblin 3: -looks up- "where did who g...."
Goblin 2: -freezes in fear, looks down only to find a dagger through his heart-
That's just a example with only 3 skills. I'm sure you see where I'm going with this.
Is that awesome gameplay or what?
when you put it that way
its prety awesome hehe

I currently have 2 level 60 clerics. Though they can sometimes be a bit tedious to solo in PvE, they are very fun on a team. There is something satisfying about being able to bring your team back from the cusp of defeat, or simply being able to keep them all healthy & effective.

To the OP, the important thing is to choose the class you feel you will have the most fun with.
Because for the current situation, 90% of your play time won't be dungeons. Apart from leveling, it's going to be boons, dailies, and farming certain skirmishes or events.
Statistically, the average PVE player was commonly outfitted with Sharandar/Dread Ring T1 gear. 2 months down since Mod3, I've noticed the trending PVE player is decked in BI gear. With the alternatives to gearing options, I've noticed the decreased activity in LFG channel during DD as well.
I agree with the consensus here, TR is a fun class in PVE for what you will be mostly doing, and DC is satisfying when you contribute to a party, though I have to lean more towards pre-mades including legit channel ones, queuing for dungeons and event or normal skirmishes may not always make you feel appreciated as a DC.
I don't know why so many people are slamming the TR. It is my favorite class to play! :P
A TR can fly through dungeons solo very easily due to their stealth and stunning capability at low levels. Their critical chance FAR exceeds any other class - easy to get 45% critical chance with only 2000 points applied, if you work the feats right.
I don't care what anyone else says - I love the TR above all others.

In fact I don't feel any regret for the game at all." looomis said, "I don't like people changing to alts and then bragging about their mains like schizophrenic role players."

So there! :P
You'll find a lot of these sentiments aren't from TR players, rather farmers who weigh the TR's DPS in dungeons, or are otherwise the typical mmo players who follow the FOTM classes and have "played" the TR.

I see your point. But is the TR's DPS that bad? It seems like if a TR criticals a lot, overall DPS is going to be good since their damage per critical strike will increase 75%+.
I'm just a casual gamer so I don't have time to overanalyze game stats.

As a DPS class, the TR doesn't necessarily fall behind its peers. It's weakness though, which has been exposed by power creep, is its lack of AOE when doing dungeons.
Upside, the common player doesn't even do dungeons more than is necessary in the state of current game progression, due to progression vs available game play time. Curse you dailies!

This would hold true if the TR dps outside of these crits were average to good, but in actuality it is somewhat sup-bar. Think of it more along the lines of "if the TR was scoped to fall within a specific damage relation with other classes that it would be one that absolutely took into consideration the crit rate of the TR and that a high crit rate would be required to meet the average".
I play all the classes PvE have since beta and the TR and HR are still both very viable in PvE. If you are having issues finding someone to play with join the Legit channel we don't care what you play there as long as you play fair (no exploits)

Go with DC my friend.

Huge NO to the quoted text.
HRs are a very diverse class, and are excellent in both PvE and PvP, if played right.
I don't have experience with playing TRs, but I've seen some outstanding damage dealers in dungeons.
As for your question, I don't know. See if you would like a Warlock, that one should be interesting once it comes out.
Yeah, no.
has best single target dmg

i couldn't help my self laughing out LOUD on that one...thats 1 good and very hilarious reasoning :P
