quickest way to get into kessel's retreat?

  Do only the daily quest for the 10 points of reputation each day. Just run by an encounter on your way to the pvp area. Mine 300 raw black ice. By the time your'e done someone will have defeated the encounter for you and thus giving you the credit you need for the quest. Turn it in and park your character. Once you hit 200 reputation. Head over to the AH. Buy a bunch of barbarian relics. Trade them in to the vender in IWD. That will get you all the token's you need to now do all your upgrades. Will take you max 10 min a day per character to do this.

  cheers. where do i get the boots, cowl and gloves for CW though?

  boots and cowl from the BI Vender on the left side when you enter. The gloves you will need to do heroic encounters for and prey you beat the range.
  
  you really only need the boots and cowl though as you can empower them up to rank 3 to get the 20% BI resistance you need.

  Get the boots, cowl, and a belt piece from the auction house worth 40 ish K if you don't want to try your luck on HE.

  wait; it takes 35 days of dailies to get rank 3 crafting!!! 35 days to get into a skirmish!!!???
  is there any way around this?!!?!

  You can craft and empower the boots and the helm at lvl2 black ice shaping, this gives you the 20%. That unlocks at 20 days I think.

  No idea what my toon is now.

  i see the black ice resistance on those items as 8% each which only comes up to 16%.....?
  
  oh wait the empowerment bumps em up to the requirement?

  That is their resistance at rank 2 , if you fully empower them after you crafted them they go up to 10% each , you might also have to buy a purified or corrupt belt because there used to be a bug that meant that you needed over 20% resistance to go in the skirmish but I have no idea if it was fixed.
