First, the obvious: Fix the Foundry Community achievements Work Week and Fortnight (which would then also include It's A Habit). Work Week I know doesn't work because I get up to 3 or 4 and suddenly the next day it is back down to 1 for no apparent reason. Fortnight and It's A Habit don't even show up as ones I haven't achieved. Counting them up, it is only apparently possible to get 15, not 16, of these achievements, thereby making what I am about to suggest next moot with regards to the final prize in the Foundry Authoring achievements, the Ioun Stone companion.
As for the two companions and one mount, I have a recommendation: Would it be at all possible if not more reasonable to make the companions and mount all more authoring related? Book Imp in name is one thing, but too bad it doesn't have "book" powers. Let me give you a few ideas I've had recently and maybe you can see where I'm going. (And please take this with a large grain of salt marked "What would Volo like?")
Instead of a Book Imp, why not a Book? It flies around magically with attacks/powers like Lethal Paper Cut (throwing pages at an opponent) and/or Writer's Block (a confusion thing) and/or Ink Blot (blindness?). It could have fun animations like flapping around like a bat and closing and sticking a paper tongue out at people.
Instead of a bear, why not a scroll? It would appear as a regular size scroll that unrolls and grows becoming more like a magic carpet. Or a folded paper creature like an origami horse.
I'm assuming you really are hooked on the whole Ioun Stone thing, but there are even ideas for that. A lightbulb (Idea), for example. But I wouldn't mind seeing this switched out for a Scribe character with attacks/powers like scroll slap and ink fountain. It's basic animations would be, quite simply, running around listening to you and writing, maybe making rude comments about slowing down and asking how to spell some really big Faerunian word.
Maybe I'm just lacking in sleep, but there's my two cents for all they are worth.

bump, I really like this idea, and would like to hear more suggestions (since I bear none of my own)
Its a matter of dev time versus reward. A lot easier to just do a basic reskin of existing assets (bear/stone/imp) than do all new models/animations.
That goes without saying, yet these are supposedly rewards for people who put a ton of time and effort not into just playing the game but also into giving the developers ideas to work off of and giving players even more material to play. Seems to be that a little work on rewards that are at least more Author themed is not much to ask.
