I hope someone can help me.
Is one of the two sets better as the old T2?
It seems corrupted is a nice one, but i don't have it and i don't know how much the stats increase if i charge it with additional black ice + the task to create it with the profession is really confusing. It has 3 quality levels but the results are always the same to create corrupted ice gear.
And one BIG QUESTION are the Formorer Daggers (MC Profession ones) still top-notch or is the corrupted black ice dagger better?
i am really clueless about this new Set...
P.S.: Sorry for my bad english its not my native language.
Platypus wielding a giant hammer, your argument is invalild!
From what I've seen in my own 3/6 Purified Black Ice gear so far, the loss of the 2 part gs-boosting set bonus is equated easily by tier 3 empowerment, which, even if it says would last only some hours, are only depleted by combat hours. So I am able to out-produce black ice from one gauntlet throughout the week, and still have a question mark hanging over my head where am I supposed to spend all this processed black ice.
As to whether which set is more BiS, it's hands down BI gear for having a few hundred more stats thanks to tier 3 empowerment. However, if you're going for the min-maxing kind of build, your choice will always fall down to which set has the stat that you need.
Has something changed?
Make it sense to farm the heroic encounter for the new armours? Is it better? And does the same Overload Enchantment stack or must i choose another one?

I made some math and want to show you the results.
Edit: Sorry for my bad english.
The new Black Ice Set has a total of 5.155 statpoints (uncharged) while the old T2 Sets has 4.415 Statpoints. A difference of 715 statpoints. The set bonuses seems nice too. As example the corrupted black ice set give you as first bonus 150 action point gaining and the final set bonus give the chance of a buff that lasts 22 Seconds and give you in the last phase 960 power (additional with +15% Speedbuff).
Normaly you would say: Oh its better... but wait, there is more!
The Black Ice Set loose in PvE 451 statpoints, because this goes to tenacity (a stat which is not effected by monsters). And a normal T2 Set give you additional 450 statpoints for his first set bonus. Which means you lose 901 statpoints and now the black ice gear has 186 statpoints less then a normal T2 Set (if you ignore the final setbonus).
In example the Swashbuckling Captain-Set gives you with his final set bonus a buff that stacks and provide you with 1014 power and 1014 recovery. A total amount of +2.028 statpoints. Which made an additional difference of 1.068 statpoints (only if you look at the final bonus).
Okey! You can say: But their are the two overload enchantments!
That gives 800 to one stat, 1.600 overall. (you can have 2 mighty overload enchantments). The problem is the usefullness.
There are 6 mighty enchantments. Three attack and three defense.
The three attack give 800 power, 800 armor penetration or 800 critical strike. The three defense give you 800 deflect, 800 defence or 800 life leech.
Critical strike is useless, as TR you have plenty of that. Armor Penetration would be nice. But to have an 800 stat gap at the beginning of a fight drain your starting damage and the most of the fights will eventually end before this stat gap is properly filled which means only +800 power is sufficient. To build in two power enchantmens is useless they doesn't stack.
The defence enchantmens only progs if you take damage. Personaly i would prefer life leech to fill my lost hitpoints faster or put 800 statpoints to another stat because you only need life leech if you lost already life. Which activates automatically if you got hitted.
Normaly i would say the new set is nice. Because if you calculate all of the bonus and buffs together the new set gives you +346 Statpoints more then the old one and it is uncharged.
One problem with the new set maybe this:
The set spreads his statpoints really broad band to all stats. Not focusing on once. You must compensate this with other equipment. The new set is trying to be both, pve and pvp equipment.
I didn't test it in a real battle because i didn't own it know (my little dwarfs are still tinkering it together). So we must wait for a real combat expirience.

On one TR I have been trying out the black ice. It feels comparable to Swashbuckling but I don't think one could tell outside of parsing and so that would suggest it isn't worth the effort to obtain. This TR in particular I built to test things with and he only has two points in Improved Cunning Sneak and is pretty much toast in PVE (seems when people realize that there is a mostly visible TR on the field they like to dutifully and particularly exact their 'vengeance' for whatever imagined slights against them that TR's represent). With even the Skulkers it is a different story -- higher survivability, higher damage (mostly from easier play and not having to be constantly concerned with staying upright). When you factor in the rate of expense of black ice and it becoming another distraction it is simply not worth it to pursue and maintain this gear for me (now on a reflect/tankish built TR this would be different I could guess).
First introduce myself.
Hello everyone I'm a PVE player. If you think that it is useless PVE TR.
But now my damage is at the height of a GWF 16k.
with respect to swash topic or corrupted, it is strange and do not understand it.
with buff swash, have 8.6k of power, and the corrupted I've had 13k (greater black ice enchant) and I would say that more damage with swash. Even so I'm still trying.

Black ice armor is great if you can build around its stats.

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!
I just cant seem to get the armor or main hand drop no matter how many encounters I do.
So I am still running Pro Scoundrel
I am building both corrupt and purified so I can compare.
keep in mind that im one of those that it was able to try the new dungeons and skirmishes.
they drops NEW overloaded enchant that reading the description give tons of stats with a FIXED chance to be proc'd.
so now it s 100% not worth using on all the classes but pvp clerics. we dont know in the very near future.
In Pure Stat, this topic make it pretty clear , indeed T2 Set PvP is better for Burst .
Nevertheless , if you add all procs you can get from Corrupted black ice set ...i'm not sure the math are the same .
I used the set of black ice and t2 with the same players in the same dungeon. And I keep saying that I do more dps with t2. It is also true that I have not got the weapon set, so do not know if this improves dps. Although I have always tried to maintain similar stats with all sets (ar pen, power etc).
Anyway, I recommend you personally compare. Since the dps depends on many factors and may be misleading.
Once again I hope you will understand my post.
Bi Gear sux itself cause of 2set stat bonus and 4set bonus icd on top of that it decays i have no idea what kind of broken mind made that gear the mod 3 was just waste of time.
Try this same run without a dc. Your numbers will be broken. The dc's debuff's is what adds to your stats. I'm sure you have seen a 217k Ice knife in pve but without a dc it doesnt happen.

Black Ice gear is so pitiful lol. I got 3 pieces but just gonna let them sit there. Recharging them over and over again. No thanks...
Yesterday i beat my record, 146k with lashing.
should not, but the pvp set is the best to do high dps.
