Last night after a launcher patch attempt I was no longer able to access neverwinter or star trek online. I get the error.
Insufficient Permissions
The launcher was unable to write to directory g:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/champions online/live
If problems persist, please contact Technical support.
I do not have champions online installed or a G drive. STO was steam, neverwinter was a stand alone client. I have tried reinstalling both. Neverwinter to a new directory though arc. I submitted a ticket but was hoping someone else has seen this.
An idea came to me as I was writing the post and I got it figured out. I must have had once installed Champions prior to a HDD crash 6 months ago. Patcher must have been looking at a bad registry entry. I installed Champions online to rewrite the registry entries and both games now work.
