just my own opinion of GF class

just please excuse my grammer, since i am born deaf disability with writing skill, and i use ASL (american sign langauge)m it is the way most deafness community talks and writes, mostly would need some proofreads.

okay, back to topic on Guardian Fighter, i love it and it also my primary adventuring hero in the story of Neverwinter Saga.

here is my list on what i didnt like.
they run too slow, and they were suppose to be leading tanks running ahead of groups, not behind when groups are running, they often get booted from groups in favor of speedy GFW and they are not true tank class, they were built for handling set of mob adds and able to kite red effects, and GFs suffer the most and hard to run from red rings.

GF were suppose to handle most boss mobs with taunts and hate arggoes to keep group alive, they werent meant to deal with summon mobs or reinforcements, they belong to CW, HR, and GFWs when they are played correctly.

they are master of melee weapons (suppose to be fastest), way faster than 2-handed weapons, casting time on attacks should be fast, and should be able to resist most kicks since they carried the shields, higher the levels and faster the blocking stance to regenerate.

plus, they do have ability to "Shield Toss" like Captain America for long range attack, they are useless in some combat scripts with ranged mobs with thier own field of protection when GF tried to melee, that why groups favored range types class in groups, often being outscored by many classes.

reason for tossing, it increase taunt effect to draw them away from healers, it works in Asheron's Call 2.

to make the GF more attractive, make active "armor buffs", when in groups, the groups gets 10%-15% armor buffs and better action point regenerate effects for groups.

GF are highly trained in armors and shouldnt be penalized for heavy armors, and the shield was only way against red effect more survivablity if they cant outrun, the active skill would be "Stand your ground" which could immune for short duration to knockbacks, impacts, but cooldown to repeat take longer to recover, as seen with "better shielding ranks" above.

GF are often misunderstood by many players or expecting but got let down too much, or some players not playing as it intended to be.

they are important to any groups, and they need to be faster in dungeon runs and should be in the lead of group when attacking, they get often blame for not protecting group when Gf are catching up in running from behind and GF was suppose to pull mobs into fight first.

    Well I will help as I can from what I know. GF can be amazingly fast the trick is that you do not use AWSD to move. Most movement is acheived through lunging strike and threatening rush. In most dungeons at the point you can see the next mob it is in lunge range. Some of the animations are slow. One way to speed them up is to begin the animation in motion. You see the next mob and lunge at them in mid-air start the enforced threat animation and it will go off right as you land. In closer quarters the same technique can be used with threatening rush or by simply jumping (you will continue in the direction you were moving but now are free to activate the encounter). A final problem you will run into is that since not many play GF few know how to work with a GF. There are many fight where the GF can control the room if nobody interferes but people will still throw their biggest AOEs in a DPS race and/ or scatter mobs making you chase them. Basically you just need to find good people to work with which is a larger task then clearing dungeons once you find them...

    The most effective GF i have seen is those that run troll build aka does 0 dmg never kill anything 1 v 1 but takes like 5 mins to die.

    But I can just take any other class and does the exact same thing while offering more, so that is why GF is a dead class, completely outshined by others.
