will never get my iwd epics now i know why!

so after almost a month and more then 100 heroic encounters no epic loot, no gloves, no swords ,
started asking around seems like you get those drops if u are a good dps ?!

well now i never was a good dps (since when trs are good dps with all the nerfs they got?)
so i wont be able to complete ice. wont be able to go to the new dungeon as well
thanx a lot cryptic for a wonderful idea!

well here is a constructive idea:

how about you give the player epic loot he need after doing more then 100 heroic encounters?! thats 1% in my book just as devs intended isnt it?

    You just need to look for a less populated instance and start early. It was a bad system and for that low dps classes are at a disadvantage, but that just makes it even more fufilling once you get them! (no) as long as you start earlier and just get as much dps down before other people show up, your odds will probably improve

    Technically you dont need either to do the dungeon. You can get into the dungeon (which tbh was a total let down imo anyway, but that is not the topic here) fine from purchasing hat and feet of the vendor and forging them to the empowered version of your choice.

    And of these 100 HE, how many were actually epic? The different ranks of he all have different chances to drop the items, with some epic hes having the most for a given item. If they gave the items out all the time, there wouldn't be anything to work towards in game either! That said pehaps they could add a multiplier that boosts your % of getting a certain item if you you've done the epic he that has the best chance to drop it. Says a .5% boost on chance to get main hand for example, for each beholder you do.

    If you do minor HEs they don't count, if you do major ones they do count but lower drop rate. I recommend prioritising epic ones and letting people invite you to party of theres one in another instance (need to go to town and back)

    I barely hit the beholder today and got the main in my cleric, this damage is pure myth, is pure random.

    My GF has all peices. You just have to take a tactical approach and work the best spawns.

    Im just about done trying for this gear. I'm in the same boat as lemonchill. I have been grinding daily, switching instances, buying companions, & upgrading gear on my GWF and still absolutely nuthin !!!

    This system is awful and frustrating. There has to be a better way than this. I like the idea of drops that can be turned in for the pieces.

    And pretty much this too - its all RNG I too got a MH from walking up whacking the boss mob a few times then dieing bc of lag by the time i got back it was over and yet I had my MH... but on other chars/HE's i work my behind (stupid filter lol) off and get a.... potion and 150 BI. Yay! Well, I guess at least you can sell the potion for a decent amount of silver (37s) :p

    the first time I did an epic heroic encounter I got a DC main hand. darn the luck!

    Unless you have an overabundance of free time wait for Module 4. Maybe it will have a better system.

    Personally, I never liked having items bottlenecked through one narrow avenue of acquisition; I always prefer having something like a token system, or something like one of the max-reputation tasks being a source of the item.

    magnubbie: TR's are still the No.1 when it comes to single target damage, but monsters come in groups, and while a TR can kill a target extremely fast, a CW does enough damage to kill 3 in the same amount of time. I don't know what's the value of keeping up with CW and GWF on the same mob, when you fight tens of mobs at the same time. Regardless, it is possible to get what you need - not easy, but not impossible either.


    What I think is bs though, is the fact that the weapons are bound to character and not bound to account. It seems like the developers think it's a good idea to make you go through this painstaking grind over and over again on each character. I have a GF main-hand on my TR. Now, of course, I will have to salvage it for a little Black Ice, and grind with my GF for that main-hand, for who know how long. Meanwhile, my TR is still without the main hand.

    maybe you re overcapped on some stat somewhere as tr, as far as i know as 10k player you can more then enough damage to get a reward.
    there must be something wrong in gear, playstyle or something.
    i don`t remember exactly but it used to be just flurry all the time and lurker, must be more then enough ;p

    You likely have the hammerstone GF main hand and not the black ice one that's required to upgrade.

    Not really, since a healer doesn't need to do any dmg at all. Basically, all a dc need to do is to heal some and not being much worse than other healers there.

    They havent revelead thier math to us.. so I dont know what really counts or not. What I do know is Im missing stuff on my 3 classes and have approx 100 encounters between them.

    Main Hand for GWf but no gloves
    Bracers on my CW but no Mh
    and poor DC , nothing.

    Even after healing was supposed to effect it more, still nothing, beholder this morning, got a purple beholder hide.. darn, stupid crafting junk.

    Why do they have those anyways?!!!!

    I do not like what they did either, it couldve been done better, Run 50 Majors and get 1 token for each and 50 = turn in . This will make playerbase play the HEs as well as reward them without the crushing realization that it seems to be total RNG handouts.

    Got my gloves on tr the first time i ve ever entered valley. just went straight to raiders encounter. Went duelist, lashing, itc buff for power and blitz. and bang got purple.

    Healing really counts after recent changes.
    My cleric in "normal mode" (HP set, 0 healing, optimized for buffing) gets troll loot, but in "healbot mode" (MH set, 3 healing encounters, I hope I can avoid mobs on my way to that beholder or I'm dead, in best case I won't be able to get there in time) get significantly better things, I expect my gloves soon.
    However, the chance you get your epic item is smaller now even if you qualify for the best reward.

    Having a system that is almost completely reliant on luck has never been an ideal solution. I wouldn't care if I had to run something a couple of hundred times, if I knew I was guaranteed to get what I'm working for eventually, I'd keep coming back. As it is, I have little interest of doing the same thing a couple of hundred times without that guarantee. One's efforts should be rewarded and once you've done the same thing 100 times, the fun of doing it is no longer of sufficient reward.

    It's the Elk Tribe one, so you are right - it's not the black ice one, but it would still be nice for these drops to be bound to account, otherwise they're just a waste.

    Well, the reason I won't be getting mine is I don't see epic HEs spawn when I'm doing my dailies.

    I'm not cursed with bad luck with RNG, just bad timing.
