Goodevening.
Just finished testing the 4pcs set bonus of the Grand Warden set using combat log and dummies. There are not any multiprocs from Fox Shift ,Thorn Ward or Rain of Arrows. It just procs on the first hit. Also it seems as though it cannot crit but that was to be expected. Unfortunately I was unable to test split the sky since the dummies insist on not hitting me back but I assume the same goes for this encounter as well.
In PvE I usually use SplitTheSky/RainofArrows/(ThornWard or FoxCunnig) While on certain bosses I switch out SplitTheSky for CommandingShot and ofc always have ThornWard in that third spot. Taking into consideration the fact that i constantly use both my ranged and melee encounterswould u say that I shuld just farm up a Royal Guard set?
Thank you in advance for your input.
Edit. I actually misuse the term "proc" even though it should be clear what I mean. I am ofc talking about the damage part and not the buff proc. Just to clarify.
Combine the Royal Guard set with any DoT weapon enchantment (e.g. Plague fire), because it increases chances, especially if you hit multiple targets.
When many adds are dense (e.g. by CW's singularity), not often but sometimes it happens that I use rain of arrows two times in a row in 2-3 seconds - it's insane!
Well without enchs on armor, it procced ONCE during HALF OF A KARRU RUN. Imagine how many gazillions of adds I spammed with StS +RoA+Split, and do your math. I dropped it in disgust almost instantly (even stats were meh in comparison to my "All Blues" equip): now I use my pvp set (mix grim combat-archer), because who cares, really.
My guess is for pve you just go stack Lifesteal to 10%, get high crit and go with StS, for example.

I pursued the T1 Warden's set initially when I dinged lvl 60, but dropped it once I realised how good the other dps 4-piece set bonus could be with my set-up. But for the tenacity I would use the Royal Guard set for pvp too but until I see how bad the nerf to the 4-piece pvp set is I will stick to Profound for pvp for now. I don't see the damage from the Warden's proc being better than reduced CD on encounters especially with Stormstep Action, which I find still makes a difference in pve.
An example of the difference the 4-piece Royal Guard set makes is when I run Phantasmal Fortress on both my Archer and Combat specs, with only the former having the complete set. I blow through the final boss in that Lair on my Archer and the bonus procs a few times wheras my Combat HR takes ages to down him as I just don't cycle through my encounters fast enough.

Really? My combat HR has no issues killing him and that... thingy before he can come back a second time. Takes just 1 rotation.

Well now that my Combat HR also has the Royal Guard set I do take down the boss and the phylactery in one rotation, although still not as quickly with my Archer.

First time I 1 cycled Phylactery was also with RG. But I moved away from it to a 1/2 &1/2 for optimal points and still 1 cycle it. But hey my GF 1 cycles it. I sort of use PF to test single-target build output...

Ack once in an entire run? That's awful.
So much for my mega-cooldown-reduction HR idea.

I'm doing MC runs every now and again, and the 4-piece Royal Guard set using Stormstep Action I still get plenty of back-to-back RoA/TW and StS. Even while doing my IWD dailies I cycle through my encounters pretty quickly. The SSA nerf hurt a little bit but delaying Disruptive Shot for that extra 0.5 seconds really doesn't have such a big impact on the overall CD effect. If you were one of those that used the SSA/Forest Ghost bug then yes the nerf is massive but deserved.

I wonder if Royal Guard procs from briartwine enchantments.
I imagine it would proc. It reads, "When dealing damage to a foe you have a chance to reduce all of your cooldowns by 30%." Since Wild's Medicine and Rejuvenating Swiftness both proc off of healing, it probably means that damages from all of your sources should proc Royal Guard.
Now the question is "Do you give up Soulforged for Briartwine?" 2-4% of damage returned really isn't a lot.
It would totally be more viable if Briartwine returned 2.5/5/7.5/10% damage in PVE, while only returning half that value in PVP.

But even that, for me, doesn't proc so much
About how often do you think it procs?
I was thinking of maybe trying to get this set once they nerf the pvp set and go for a more faster casting damage dealing style- Double thornward etc.
