I just did this for the first time, and when we got it to about 25%, all the adds that spawned could not be killed. We'd damage them and then they'd full heal. The boss's hp were regenning so fast even with all of us on it, the hp would not go down. This a bug?
You just had a poor team and teamwork.I had trouble with that one too.the trick is to 1:split the mystics from each other and 2:drive them at the edge where the CW of the team will use his attacks to throw them off
I ran into an actual bug on this map. The mystics were killed, but the red and green circles they summon kept spawning. This in turn had the effect of keeping everyone in combat, which made the reward chest unlootable and the exit portal unusable. Only way out was to drop team.
We just did this run this morning. Our tactic, without knocking things off the edge, was to focus on the boss till adds, then full team focus on each Mystic. Everyone. All on one target. They go down fast. Keep them away from the boss as they heal him, obviously. On the second run, we had the GF just keep the boss busy and facing away from us, and continued with the group focus fire on adds. Again, this needs to be the entire group. Not just a few. They will go down fast. Save your cooldowns/dailies for the adds when they are up. The faster they go down, the more "on target" time you have with the boss. This is like most fights in NW where the most dangerous things are the adds. If they are up, ignore everything else till they are down.

I ran into this too - sometimes when you try to knock em off, they don't actually die but fall through the textures and keep attacking you. So stop using cheese and fight like a man :P
Another viable strategy aside from what the poster above me suggested is to have one person kite the mystics away from the dragon. I've had to do that as a DC in a few bad pugs, cause we woulda failed otherwise. Not ideal, but it works.
This fight is 100% impossible to do if 2 out of 5 on your team are HAMSTER. Sadly my two friends and I always get 2 HAMSTER. If you can't get people to actually attack the mystics you just can't win.
It's also pretty much impossible if no one sticks around at the beginning (in a PUG, obviously) to strategize. I'm left trying to type "Get the Mystics" / "Focus on the adds" while chasing after them . . . which the rest of the team pretty much forgets by the end of the first couple of rounds. Then we get the boss down to that nasty 25% mark...at which point they all start bailing, and I end up the only one left in the instance (has happened twice now). I hope I get some people with a bit of sense, and willing for some teamwork, or I'm going to level out of this one before I ever finish it. Sigh...

Yeah, it is tough to finish. The Mystics stay next to one another and heal each other so it is crucial to focus on one until he is down, preferably with a CW controlling the other one so he doesn't heal the one you are trying to kill.

I did this skirmish with my GWF the other day and we weren't knocking any adds off that I saw and we still ended up with a Mystic under the terrain. Chest was unopenable due to aggro. At least the skirmish counted so that was a plus. I really wasn't looking forward to doing that one again.
Marsh Mystics (I think that's them) are my least-liked mob in the whole game. Whenever I get an alt up to PSH, I think 'Here we go again'. Really, without them Garrundar would be just another giant barbecue item.

If you ignore the adds and focus down the boss, the spawns will stack up and become a nightmare. You really do not want alot of extra mobs up when the marsh mystics spawn. DPS focus should be adds then boss. The only time you focus down the boss like mad is if you are overgeared and can handle all the adds at once, even then this can be suicidal if the marsh mystics are not focused down first once the dragon dies. They spawn at around 25% on the dragon, if your team focuses them down on spawn, it will definitely make the event much easier.
