Yeah, I agree, it is steep. We've already either spent time and/or money earning two pieces of armour so the transmute shouldn't be so stupidly priced. I'd rather use gold than AD.
The best bit is buying the armour transmutes from the Wondrous Bazaar. You pay 1.7 million AD for the chest piece and it has the cheek to say ''Free armour transmute''. No, I just paid the equivalent of 3500 Zen to change the look of one piece of my armour.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.
I agree, the price is too high.
And the system of cosmetic outfit isn't good. Why don't copy other's fantasy MMO games and offer a better customization?
Neverwinter is the first game i ever played where i hate my avatar's look.

Yeah when you look at it as you can make 50K in a day it is low.
Except I have more than one piece of gear so it is more like 5 or 50K. That's not that cheap.
And then it's not so much that it's hard to get that AD as much as I look at what else I could spend 250K AD on. Even the horribly overpriced companion upgrades start looking more appealing. I love cosmetics. I want to spend AD on cosmetics. I do it once per character as it is...
But the cosmetics should be a fair chunk cheaper than comparable purchases which grant power or utility to your character.
But hey, even most of those should drop a zero.
EDIT - P.S. There's also a LOT to purchase with AD/Zen. When everything takes weeks of investments I start caring about utility a lot more. Not everything can take weeks to afford if purchasing everything means it will take years to afford it all (assuming nothing new is added).

I would be really keen to change my armor for a reasonable price in fact in the long run I'd probably spend more , I also would love to transmute to Full Plate on my GWF.

If they expanded the cosmetic window to include slots for every equipment piece AND to allow any piece of gear to be dropped in there, THEN we would be talking good system.
Thing is they need a large selection of cosmetic pieces for reasonable AD, and not charge at all for the actual transformation of the appearance. That way people will be able to switch around outfits without breaking the bank every time they want a minor change. It will also encourage them to develop new and varied cosmetic looks to boost sales, and encourage rather than discourage customers.
As someone in the forum mentioned, Cryptic should give the possibility of "unblock" cosmetic appearance "forever" for that particolar item: now that would make the cost reasonable. Don't want to do that? Make it half the cost (if not straight 10k AD) and we'd see a LOT of people "sinking" AD in gear cosmetic change. Because now my guess is the only time when one changes appearance on gear is just AFTER having played almost all the content, lvl 60 +boons +whatever +ultimate set. And it's plainly wrong, mechanic-wise and purpouse-wise
