Why does Purified Black Ice Jewelry have tenacity? Tenacity is for PvP, but the purified set bonus can't proc in PvP. No gear deals black ice damage in PvP. Only cold damage. Am I missing an equipable source of black ice damage or is this a PvE set with tenacity?

Isn't Black Ice Damage cold damage?

doubt it. Corrupted Jewelry make a point of differentiating between black ice damage and cold damage.

"... damage all nearby foes for 800 Black Ice damage. Deals Cold damage to enemy players."

Means the two are separate types of damage.

I think they make it cold damage so it can be mitigated in PVP. But it still does 800 damage, just not black ice damage.

The point is, if It's impossible to deal Black Ice damage in PvP, why does a PvP specific set bonus only activate when Black Ice damage is dealt?

The corrupted black ice weapon sets have a chance to do black ice damage.Off the top of my head its when you do damage there is a random chance to do 2500 black ice damage to an enemy nearby or something similar .That was on preview though so I don't know if they decreased the amount of damage .

His point is it changes to Cold Damage as it is applied to the Player-character.

It's, again, ambiguous. For example You cast personal black ice attack, which turns into coldness, which is then mitigated. As it's mitigated the accessory set checks to see if it is mitigating black ice damage, finds out it's cold damage and doesn't proc the effect.

If the tooltip were gospel, the set would only proc at Heroic Encounters where someone was PvP flagged right next to where you get smacked in the face with Black Ice damage from a mob.

It's safe to assume that the cold damage from black ice set-effects trigger the effect, pigeon-holing the set bonus into usefulness only when facing Black Ice set effect using player characters.

With the Chicken Companion having the same ambiguous text: HAMSTER Hitpoints, 15 Power - Active summon bonus 40% movement speed -10% dmg debuff on attacker when receiving 25% hp in a single blow, and underneath that having Poultry Power: While this companion is summoned it grants crit and recovery to the summoner.

Things like this are worth "talking about in open forum".

It seems to be an extra stat so what's the problem?

    Ah yes, I see. Hmmm.

Well, only way it would work is if it procced off cold damage too. I don't see that happening so probably the bonus is useless in PVP.

If the bonus is useless in PvP, then the claims that the accessories are a "PvP set" just took a step back.
