I have met the requirements per the tooltip on the campaign. I have 2 pc. Corrupted BI empowered to T3 which yields 20% BI resist and 17k gs.
This is such a let down. I know this was bugged on the preview shard, but I really hoped this had been fixed.
I have not had the bracers drop after many many hours of farming the proper epic encounters. I should add that most of that "farming" time has been "waiting" time waiting for the specific encounters to spawn. I don't mind farming for hours or days or months if it's required, but just waiting and waiting so I can farm is very very bad design.
1) Yes, this needs to be fixed. It's annoying and stupid and should be EASILY fixed. I don't understand how since this was a known bug it's been delayed in being fixed for so long.
2) A lot of people are under the impression that you can only get the black ice bracer (and other black ice epic drops) from the epic heroic encounters like Rhemoraz, Beholder, Raider the Raiders, etc. This isn't true. I've gotten both my epic weapon and the epic bracer to drop on normal major heroics that spawn much more frequently.
3) Farming for stuff is not bad design. Neverwinter is already about the easiest MMO I've ever played, it practically serves you up equipment on a silver platter. Even getting this equipment is hardly a difficult matter.
Can I just ask how quickly the BI charge drains? Like how many daily rotations can it do before needing more ice? I'm concerned that after I make all this gear that I'll only have enough charge to run Kessel's Retreat and not use it for anything else.
It drains slow imo. Plus if you use the salve that slows it even more it's really slow. Sorry I don't have exact figures, but man it takes very little black ice to recharge it anyway.
The T3 level lasts 7 hours combat time btw, from full charge.
Apologies, I simply ask because I've not yet made or purchased any black ice gear so I've got nothing to go on and really just wanted to know if it's actually worth the investment to make those pieces. I guess I have to look better in the professions tab for the starting values of those things. Since I'm already asking, how much black ice buys you another hour (for example)?
This is a more reasonable question considering it's not actually listed on the description for the equipment (haha).
1500 refined black ice buys you about 7 hours of combat time.
I don't need any spoilers, just say if it's entertaining or not :P
It's pretty easy, or it would be....
Hint: Beat the beholders until they turn on Kessel. Make sure that you kill the golems ontop of Kessel, he gets damaged by their explosion - a lot.
I don't consider that spoiler-iffic because it's in a free lore tip that is given to you the second you enter the zone.
You do get a lot of enchantments from running it, so it's probably worth it just to level up artifacts, but it's not particularly entertaining. Actually a bit of a let down.

Well I thought it was entertaining, about like a Medium challenge HE kind of entertaining.
You do get a lot more than just enchantments though,
You can get Black Ice Cloaks and Rings, and one guy got the Black Ice Beholder Artifact during one of my runs.
You can say that again , I've had both cloaks ,one ring , a bunch of various types of lesser BI enchantments and a couple of the black ice silver and I have only run it maybe 20 times give or take , I really want that artifact though , a guy I was running with earlier was using it and the beholder that it summons looks cool.
Silverquick and iambecks are quite correct you can get some nice stuff. I want that artifact x 2 for my 2 active toons.
Not sure who said it...but people need to kill and stop killing on Akar Kessell as it pretty much tells you.
Stop attacking the beholders when they turn on Akar Kessell which means NO AOES that hit the beholders. And kill the the golems on top of Akar Kessell.
Doing this turns a 10 min fight into a 2 min fight.
