Need helpl upgrading my companion

Hi,

My companion cleric and ready to be upgraded but I can't figure out how to do it. I have zen, but I can't seem to be able to upgrade her. Any suggestions?

Also, both my companions are female. Is there a way to change the gender of the companion?

    You cant change their gender, sadly. And you will only get the upgrade option once your pet his reached its max level. Get your cleric to 15 and the train button becomes an upgrade button.

    BTW, IMO don't do it. It's really not worth it to upgrade cleric.

    OP: You may want to consider going this route instead - give your companion better gear and/or runes - they don't cost you the rather high AD fee, and you can always pull said runes & gear off the companion if you want to use them elsewhere.

    Thanks for your help and advice guys. I am level 15 and the upgrade button is lit. but it says I don't have enough. Is it zen? I have 500 zen. I don't have enough astral diamonds, but what is the other currency?

    Bummer about the gender. I wonder why they are all female? Where can I buy a green cleric with zen? Also, are there other companions that heal better?

    That comes from lockboxes , in all honesty it just isn't worth the cost upgrading companions at the moment , well maybe in endgame if you min/max and really want the best active bonuses but just starting you really don't need to , check the promotions on the last few pages of this thread i'll link , you could get a few free green quality companions with minimal effort.

    It costs astral diamonds to upgrade a companion. To go from white to green, (the 1st upgrade), costs 300,000 ADs - you can use the astral diamond exchange to sell your Zen for diamonds, (current rate is 500 ADs per 1 Zen, so it'd cost you 600 Zen), but I recommend against doing that.

    There's a Fawn of Shiallia on the auction house for about 245,000 Astral Diamonds, and he's a great healer companion, (just be sure to slot some gear that grants +regen as one of his powers gives you a big regeneration buff based on his power & regen).

    It costs 300,000 Astral Diamonds to upgrade a white pet to green. That is a ton of cash, that can be better used on pretty much anything else. You could cash in your 500 zen into diamonds, but even with the current inflated exchange rate, it would leave you short

    As everyone else have already suggested I want to back them up; it's really not worth it.
    Play for a bit longer, get to know the ins and outs of the game, get a better grasp of the system and then maybe when you're at level 60 or so, think about whether it's really worth it to spend so much AD on a white companion.

    Upgrading companions is really expensive and as sockmunkey said, that money could be used in SO many better ways, especially at higher levels, so I'd suggest you save it for then.

    As for a better healer if you're really looking for that so much, Lillend is really decent in my opinion and her price dropped to 550.000 AD at the moment. I have a Lillend and she used to take beautiful care of me before I got my Ioun stone, yet I still use her if I play solo (sadly that's rarely, but I still really love my girl)

    Also as bioshrike suggested, the Fawn of Shiallia, a green healer which is ALSO really decent from what I've seen from my friend's gameplay comes at 250.000-300.000 AD

    You'd be better off buying one of these two rather than upgrading your current companion.

    Any of you guys see the Companion Upgrade Tokens spot now in inv. ?Just got up and was refining rad in gateway when i seen it.Don't recall it being there y-day and I've not log in to game yet so don't know if it's there but sure it is.

    I checked half a min ago, and there's about 25 fawns in the AH. (but indeed, you won't find them if you're looking for 'faun' ;) )

    Yeah... do a search for "fawn".

    Also, the CTA coming next week will have a chance of dropping a lizardfolk shaman, which has a heal, (you can check the in-game calendar for more details, but I don't know how good said heal will be).
