Here is a small list of things that REEALLLY <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> me off in this game. To the point where I need to stop playing because they drain the enjoyment out of the game.
- Traps hitting you when you're OBVIOUSLY not in their range of damage
- The Control Wizard's "Magic Missle" always having to attack the dead foe. Even happens half the time when you try to stop clicking during your second last hit.
- Gold Farmers being able to send you Friend Requests no matter where the **** you might be
- Clerics are ****ing USELESS in this game
- The delay after the Control Wizards shift ability (teleport), making it the slowest and most difficult to use dodge in the game
- Some NPC quest companions stand directly on top of you when you stop moving, so you can't interact with objects. You need to run away from what you're trying to interact with then run back to it before the NPC reaches you again.
 This one nobody can really do anything about, but HOLY THUNDERING BALLS OF THOR, WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE NEED TO NAME THEMSELVES AFTER LEAGUE CHARACTERS?! YOU'RE NOT ORIGINAL. YOU'RE NOT FUNNY. I WILL NEVER, EVER TALK TO YOU IF YOU'RE A RANGER NAMED VARUS OR ASHE.

I don't get why you care so much about what other people name their character. People can name them whatever they want.
I'm more annoyed by the way it seems that if you don't do PvP or you don't have a regular, set party, you might as well not even bother doing Icewind Dale, but, hey, priorities and all. (And, eff that, because there are some neat boons I want on both of my characters.)
Oh. And that Beholder. That stupid Beholder.
Edit: Actually, based on the response above me, I'll agree with that. I've learned creative "steering" on some quests with NPC characters. *wry* And I'll add to the traps one getting stuck and dying because of a bug that won't let you get out.
To hobbito1: I bet you're char's name is Varus.
To abaddon523: When they're things that you deal with for hours on end, day after day, yeah, they kinda <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> me off. I love the game and all, but these things are just maddening. The term "fit of rage" is pretty trolly. I wouldn't consider any form of frustration online to be considered "rage". Rage is when someone bangs your girlfriend, or when your dog smashes your 56" plasma screen TV, or when someone steals a crapload of money from you. This is not rage, this is deep frustration.
I agree so much with the copyrighted name thing, this game is in desperate need of a filter, upon character creation. I would even go a step further and prohibit numbers, special characters, and repetitive patterns such as the oh so annoying-> xXinsertyournameofchoicehereXx.

I would hope that any form of frustration online would not trigger rage. But I hope you'll excuse me for inferring that that was exactly what you were expressing given the title of the post, the all caps, the exclamation points, and the words "SOOO INFURIATING" (since "infuriated" and "enraged" are synonyms). If you're not actually enraged then maybe don't make it seem like you are.

When I played CW, I never had ANY trouble using the THREE dodge that CW's have. Neither in PvP nor PvE.
And obviously it's a bit slower (is it really?) because you have more dodges than anyone else (inb4 HRs?)
The most infuriating thing in this game is still the redcap powries, with their BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP AP drain away attack. :^)
Obviously, people only came into this thread to attempt to troll me.
*slow clap*
You have even more time to waste than me. Congrats, your life is pointless.

The copyright thing is annoying, but does nothing to ruin the game for me, mostly find it annoying as there seems to be so many, but people copy what they like. As far as filters and special characters, you have to be careful how you word it as then it will be harder for new players to find a name that is not already in use or maybe they coincidently name a character Cat or Cloak without knowing they are plagiarising. The special characters could include apostrophes and thus ruin many fantasy type names, such as drow names and a few elven ones.
As for copyright, everyone in this threads who has mentioned it does not understand it (you are describing patent, not copyright). As for popular names - it's all subjective. I don't have a clue who the hell Drizzt is - so I couldn't care any less. But I do know who Lauralanthalasa and Tanis and Sturm are (Dragonlane world of Krynn, not Faerun) - but it still does not bother me.
And I reiterate: anyone calling themselves Drizzt, Rambo or anything else is not breaking any copyright rules. At least know the subject before you start throwing accusations around. I mean, really. You might have a "Trade Mark" case if those names were trademarked, but they aren't. -shrug-
@OP: Thank you for this thread. It brings genuine smile to my face (and I need those more often these days).

No, sorry but no.
Names can very well be licensed (copyrighted). Champions online has a name filter against those, and they also explained to us, how it works in detail a while ago. You seem to have missed it. You might have been referring to Trademarked* which is involves a copyright, because it is a patent.

Ok. I feel Better. At least until I start playing again.
- That's called LAG
- That happens to every class
- They can't do anything about that, they don't know they're bots
- WHAAAAT? Have you tried to enter a dungeon with a Cleric? If you did, Now try with a TR and see how many DD you lose waiting for an answer of acceptance
- Every class with a dodge has that (not HR because their dodge is too short for that)
- That nevers happens to me.
- WTF, how can you ASK for a FIX on this? Seriously, Cryptic has nothing to do with what names people choose in the game!

Only because Marvel and DC have actually trademarked those names (Go ahead, look it up). Believe what you want to believe, it makes no matter to me.
As to the OP List: all of those have easy work-arounds from learning to anticipate game-play through to user preferences and options.

The problem with blocking trademarked/copywritten names, is that, you soon run out of names. Surely, I can find a book somewhere, with the name Bob, Mike, Jane, Mary, etc in it..... In fact,. I know I can, because that is how I find names for my characters. I look up "Books" of names in Foreign Languages, and make a themed character name from them.
My Half-Orc Sunite Paladin Petra Feuerhaar for instance. (German for Petra Firehair)
Or Dahlia Ap'Dhubh (Gaelic for Black Dahlia)
Or Björn den Rödhårig (Swedish for Bear the Red Haired)
I find the names funny, sort of like a mini game ("Guess the reference"). For example - see the name Annah for someone in chat, I look up /who to check out if it's a tiefling rogue.

True! I have three characters named Gilthas, Denubis and Fistandantilus. Yeah all from Dragonlance story lines, but the question is: what are their classes? LOL (Yeah, I had to match them up, and I have yet to see a Cleric named Crysania, yet!) I never hear complaints about my character names - and those books sold as much (if not more than) the Drizzt books (but they also are a lot older and I understand Wizards of the Coast actually sold-off the Krynn franchise so it's not even official D&D anymore [sad-face]).
The whole point is: this thread is (to me) laughably moot and the whole "copyright" arguments are a curiously hilarious misnomer at best, pathetic misinformation at worst. But oh, well.
No, they are not useless - they are just very, very different from D&D clerics.
What clerics are needed for is not healing - if you expect to succeed and be required as a "healbot", you are going to be disappointed. No, the primary function of clerics is to buff and debuff - a good DC with the right gear gear can increase the DPS of the rest of the party significantly , making fights shorter and more likely to succeed.
If you want to talk about useless classes, consider the poor GF.
Hoping for improvements...

Character naming you will just have to suck it up on, as others have said people can name their toons whatever they like which is nice because the @ naming system means I dont' have to fight over or spell my characters name all funky to get it.
Traps hitting you out of range, meh, i've not really encountered that although I do tend to miss them despite them being pretty obvious to see where they are. My issue would be the red on the ground that you are supposed to avoid that hits you even if you are well outside of it ... in one skirmish the boss would throw a cone of red out, I would step away and apparently the game would keep the red on the ground but the boss would actually redirect the attack to hit me anyway without the cone moving. In everyday PVE some things have larger areas than their circles indicate and frankly would be nice for developers to adjust them accordingly but that is LOW priority im sure.
Spam is everywhere, you get tons in your mail box and email so expect it in F2P mmo, in fact expect it in pay to play mmo. Now if it gets to where you can move around town because people are constantly friend requesting you or the like then yeah something has to be done. But I maybe get a couple a week if that when I play so I don't have any reason to note that as complaint.
CW magic missle, can't say I have that problem but then again I probably just don't notice it, there are lots of quirks in the game you just have to compensate for them. My biggest peeve is that you are targeting something and another moving mobs draws your crosshair with it ... soooooo annoying an I'm not a fan of keeping my pinky on the control key to keep target lock ... My suggestion is to have the control key function like tab in other mmo's, where tapping it will cycle through targets so you can target lock on what you want to hit. However it seems some boss fights in this game actually rely on that as a difficulty mechanic.
Clerics are not totally useless, they do keep a party healed they just don't throw out heals that will fill you up from near death they are all pretty much regen type heals with some big 1 - 4 k heals thrown in depending on how you play. Mostly a DC is really good for using divine glow and hallowed ground for major debuff and party buffs ... you can get a nice surge of damage in during the duration of those and if you can be good with running around in a T1 set of gear the debuff from the high prophet set is arguably the most useful bonus in the game for DC (i personally use miracle healer as i can't seem to get the other two piece i need and i like the higher stats from my healer set anyway).
Have you played anything other than CW? I personally find the CW the easiest class t o dodge with. At times it seems I never run out of dodge and i'm always out of red when I do (cept those few times I dodge out of red into another pool of red). Dodge on GWF is sprinting and despite what people say I frequently run out and it doesn't regenerate fast at all to me. Dodge on a DC omg you get two and thats it for a long time and while it is a long dodge to get you out of an area if you do two back to back you pretty much will have to suck it up and eat red after that for a bit. HR has a bunch of dodge but I can't seem to master them they are short and require some pretty good timing to do as they don't have the range to get you out of the middle of a red sea in one dodge and i personally can't seem to time the dodge to make me actually dodge if i am in the middle of a red sea without using two or three dodges back to back.
Not sure I have ever experienced an NPC standing on top of me ... maybe its a bug, the game is riddled with them all over again adapt and move on, NPC companions don't stay long unless you are having the issue with your purchased companion which means you can you just dismiss if its in the way and wont' move or don't have it out as they are not all that useful in this game unless you have purple ones occasionally blue ones.

Imho traps should do 90% of your hp or OHKO and don't be so noticeable.
2) Too not big deal.
3) Yep thats true, friend requests while you are in pvp & etc...You can hide yourself at social, but its still
annoying as hell.
4) DCs needs a buff for their dps imho and T2 debuff set, but I can't call them useless.
5) Well for me CW does have second best dodge ingame its easy for timing imho.
6) Well, as stone / cat user I never had this problem.
Imho these are small things and nothing for rage. There are much bigger problems...
