weapons from Icewind Dale events?

I've done at least 2 dozen of the big events, never seen any weapons or gear, just crafting blues and black ice. Is it just a really low drop rate? Given the constant spams I'm guessing the highest chance is from the Beholder event. Anyone have any idea of what the drop rate is?

Also, when people are asking if there is a Beholder event, they say things like "AB invite Beholder", what does that mean?

And the pick that drops for the queen quest, is that on a timer? I've seen two so far, been killing corrupted dwarves like crazy and nothing after the first two, though they did seem spaced apart.

    The epics drop from any major or epic encounter(blue and purple light beams respectively). AB invite and TT invite mean that they are inviting Arcane Brotherhood or Ten Town players into their team to enter the instance(as you cannot change instance in IWD/DV nor can you invite members of the opposite faction).

    The drops from the HE's seem to be RNG , as long as you participate for the whole He and do a fair amount of damage or healing .

    AB and TT are abbreviations of Arcane brotherhood and Ten Towns , when a epic HE spawns people want to get to it so they need somebody who is there to invite them so they can change instances to the one the HE is on but you can only invite players of the same faction so LFG beholder TT invite or whatever they say means looking to do beholder HE I'm tentowns invite me if you can.

    The Hammerstone Queen quest is a weekly quest.

    I just got a Black Ice Orb on my CW from doing the beholder epic encounter in dwarven valley, *and i didnt even do too much work i was lagging so hard haha*

    The drop rates are low. But not brutally low like the trying to get the Eye of Lathander out of a Arcane Coffer. If you keep grinding the encounters you'll get gear eventually. It's not a 1 in a 100 thing. I'd guess more like 1 in 20 for the epic encounters and you've just been a bit unlucky.

    Yes they are the hammerstone weapons and armor sets and the elk tribe weapon set they don't seem to be anything special but they are in collections , not entirely sure where they drop but I'd guess that the hammerstone stuff drops in Dwarf valley.

    The base gear without doing anything to it, is terrible T1s, BUT you take the T1 trash gear and use the Black Ice profession to use upgrade it to wicked powerful either corrupt or purified T2s.

    So is it worth grinding? Very much so. All you need to do is turn that bad gear into something nasty. That is universal for PvE and PvP, as it has good stats and includes tenacity as well.

    Yeah, I got a Hammerstone Mace off the only Beholder encounter I've done in Dwarf Valley. And yeah - nothing special. Sure, it's BoE... but it's also (as I mentioned in another thread) lower damage than a Dread Ring lair dagger (the weaker epic set, not the dungeon one.)

    If they were going to do stuff like that, they might as well have made them free transmute items instead of actual weapons. The only thing useful about it is it's model.

    Do you actually need to be in a group/party to get the weapons etc. ?

    The Hammerstone weapon I got, I was just participating in the fight solo.

    Thanks, that's good to know. I'm assuming the Black Ice weapons and gloves also drop for those not in a group/party.

    The stats we get from the "black ice shaping" profession will not be "decaying" over time, right?

    The charged / buffed up T2 equip will decay over time. That why you have the option "Use" Black Ice when you look in your inventory (it's under refine rough astral diamond). Black Ice used as T2 equip buff besides being another currency.

    Ps. By decayed, doesn't mean your equip will be gone. It will be at its base stat when it's empty of charge.

    The irony is, my main has three Eyes of Lathander. I've been holding onto the extra two in the vain hope that we might be able to make them account-bound someday.

    I was asking about the profession, not the tab under "currency" in the inventory.

    I got a couple of those and sold them for 30k each. I'm sure in a few weeks when the price normalizes you can still get 8-10k for them. Not bad for a few minutes' work

    My CW (main) did 30+ epic and major HEs..got nothing.. did 200+ minor HEs..got 1 elk tribe GWF offhand... Zzzzz

    My TR did his first epic HE (beholder) and got his main hand weapon..

    My GWF did his 3rd epic/major HE (prospector) and got his gloves...

    All done solo..not in party..

    RNG god is fickle....

    Done tons of HE. Jump on the big ones asap. Only got a non-class weapon.

    People always ask for Beholder/Remo/...and one other, that sounds like it could be several of the HEs.

    What is the exact name of the 3rd one, and are all the other HEs pointless? (i.e. Don't drop equipment)

    Im TR and also only soloed HEs and got gloves when jumping on a boss and did some dmg.
    But now I have done like 50 HEs, maybe 10-20 epic but no weapon sofar...

    u do know that u're supposed to craft it via BI shaping profession to get to corrupted / purified right? Obviously since it's basic item for the BI shaping, the stats won't be as good as the ones u got from dread ring.. n to craft the main hand via BI shaping profession u need to get ur BI shaping skill to rank 3 (max rank for BI shaping).. so quit ur whining n do research before u start spouting off nonsense.

    You cant get full set with just crafting. Have to get gloves and 2nd weapon from HE drops. You better do some re-research.
