Problem Initializing the game

Well, I've got this bug since the last patch (the one with the sun elves 'n stuff), that I cant access the game.

It starts by trying to update the launcher (at least 2 tries before the launcher ever begins) after that it starts the launcher.
After that, the launcher starts normally. I had a problem where it tried to verify the version of the game, but it would never end. After following the instruction on the website, it completed the check, however, the game wont start.

It stays on the "cryptic" loading screen and wont move any further...

A friend of mine seems to have the same issue, and I got no idea what might be causing it... Any hints?

    my verifies and then get s part way to the character screen and crashes. This happened after using the graphics fix suggested in the KNOWN ISSUES thread. Gra[phics were ok while playing but since I logged off, It crashes everytime I try to log back on.
    The error I got if in
    Fatal error
    direct3d driver returned error code (DXG1_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED) while creating a texture
    Technical details; DXG1_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED while creating 2D texture

    windows 8 pro- 64 bit- driver updated.

    Stuck also in the initializing thing -_-, maybe its some kind of bug
