Does this Feat actually work and what precisely does it do?

Is it worth having, or is it as rubbish as Domain Synergy?

Does it actually have a 25% chance at Rank 5 to give 30% more Armour Penetration for 5 seconds?

So if I am using an At Will and doing damage, on average every 4th hit will give 5 seconds of extra Armour Penetration?

And if my Armour Penetration stat is 1000, it will be 1300 for 5 seconds?

And at 3000 it will become 3900 for 5 seconds?

How much extra damage would that actually equate to?

Cheers!

    Yes it garbage.

It does raise ArP by the percentage listed, but it has a 5 minute cool down. So you'd have 5 seconds of increased ArP every 300 seconds (0.016% uptime).

Also, ArP has a softcap of 24% for PVE, which is about 2450. So you'd never need 3000 ArP. As for damage numbers, increasing your ArP is a direct 1:1 increase. For example, increasing your ArP from 15% to 16% is a direct 1% increase to damage. But, anything above 2450 is useless, so an increase of ArP from 3000 to 39000 would not provide any additional damage, as you are already way above the 24% softcap. (again all for PVE)

Personally I would avoid this feat. If you need ArP for dailies, buy belts and rings and slot with Dark enchantments and use them as needed. Probably really only need around 18%-20% for PvE dailies, but Kaelac would know more.

If this is for PVP, please indicate and hopefully a PVP focused DC can answer better.

It's trash in PvP too. There's simply zero utility in a random proc of +30%...anything, if it's only for 5 secs every 5 mins. It's actually 1.6% uptime, not 0.016% (**** those decimal places) but either way, it's barely ever up, you can't control it, and arp isn't that awesome anyway.

However, if you're looking at spare points anyway, it doesn't hurt to put a SINGLE point into it, since extra points just increase the chance of it proccing, and compared to the glacial timescale of the internal cooldown, a 5% per attack chance is hardly different from a 25% per attack chance.

Basically for 1 point, you have a random 30% bonus arp that can only occur once every 5 mins,
but for 5 points....you have a random 30% bonus arp that can only occur once every 5 mins.

i tried it out for a bit and considered it useless. never ever seen it up due to that horribly long cooldown, although i did notice a drastic increase in spike damage for a few seconds in pvp when i did have it. still didn't feel worth it to me.

i much prefer the extra divinity feat over that one so i can spam punishing light more

Wow, that IS HAMSTER. Thanks for the responses.

I have two level 60 DC, both do PvE and PvP, both Anointed Champions. One speced for Healing and Buffing but the Dwarf is speced for damage and combat - I tried testing it against the dummies at the Trade of Blades and I did see an increase in Armor Penetration, but when it wore off it never happened again during the test.

I did not see anything in the tool tips about a 300 second cool down. They cannot give a feat that has +30% more AP almost all the time, so a percentage chance and some cool-down makes sense, but 300 sec?!? It should be 30 seconds at most.

No wonder it only procced once during the test! That IS garbage. What a waste of a respec token! I'll have to repsec it back again!

What about Divine Fortune? How is that 15% more Divine Power calculated? Is it a larger pool, or 15% more DivPow gain from using Powers?

I also have a level 25 Dwarf with stats I am much happier with, which will be a DO. I bought some level 22 blue gear with AD and gave him spare enchants from the various Call To Arms events. His gear score is about 3000-odd, which is not bad for such a noub character. I thought the AC would be a more combat-based, but experience tells me it looks more support-based. So it's DO next for me. this will be my new main character.

Are there any up-to-date Guides on DPS/Tank-builds for Clerics? They all seem to be post-patch for way back when Module 2 came out. But there have been many patches since then, and some Feats have even changed trees.

Cra.ptic have totally nerfed the Cleric in Neverworking. It was never this brittle a class in your actual AD&D.

Between being knocked prone and stunned by GWFs with never-ending Stamina, stunned by permanently invisible Rogues and being immobilsed and suspended in mid-air by a CW, while all three repeatedly gang-bang me, I am getting sick of it.

With a good team against a team of idiots, I do fine and being combat specced works with a team of CW, HR and TR, as there are no Warriors to support, so there is no one to defend me anyway, so I have to do it myself. I switch to healing half-way through if we are doing badly (or well). And vice versa. With Warriors on the team, I slot the heals and buffs, but if they charge off on a quest for solo Glory I have to re-slot back to combat powers as if I cannot locate them, I just get killed over and over.

But PvP Match Making still does that 18k average GS team against a 9k average GS team thing, though.

[Party] GWF: - What, No heals, DC?
[Party] DC: - What? No kills, GWF?

It's the later. You gain that % more when using a power that would give you Divinity.

I would recommend Kaelac's guide for a very in-depth look at all things DC:
