GF Paragon question ~ PvP

I specced into my GF in the following feats http://nwcalc.com/gf?b=cn4:13ydj4:13ydj4,13k356i:15u551:100000:1z0000&h=0&p=ivn

I was wondering with the changes in Tenacity, and Mod 3 incoming are there any new specs you guys are using?

Next question would be ~ Does Trample the Fallen and Crushing Pin stack?
Shieldbash 60 GF ~ Iron Vanguard 19.0k
Overpowered 60 CW ~ Thaumaturge 14.5k

~ GF Buffs were great we are much better, please fix the bugs now... Thank you!

Take the 5 out of Cruel Cut Style and put them into Reinforced Surge (more prone = happy GF)

You should not be using Cleave so there is no reason to put points there, and even if you are using Cleave, you are not hitting people in PvP with it enough to justify spending 5 points on a minor DPS upgrade.

Plate Agility is a really good feat but you have to sacrifice DPS to get it so, its personal preference there.

And yes Trample the Fallen and Crushing Pin Stack, giving you even more reason to pick up Reinforced Surge.

That is for the CURRENT PvP.

Mod 3? I have no fricken idea, but if you look around our feat tree.... there is really no other way to spec, regardless of what changes. And there are no significant changes to our class anyway. The only thing I see changing is Gear, you might want to prioritize stats differently come Mod 3. Personally I'm hoping that we might be able to take advantage of the Power Rework and pick up some more DPS but everything I've read has said its a 1:1 change so... =(

Good stuff, however Enforced Surge is only 1 second, with tenacity reducing cc duration is this really worth the 5 points for 1.0 second?

.5 seconds additional prone time is HUGE in a live combat setting... Seriously, if you play a GF and don't take both feats that increase prone time.. I feel bad for you and your team =/

    Really?

1 second is a LONG time man, and you do more damage to proned enemies.

Yes, Tenacity has seriously gimped GF's prones. Thats even more reason, you need all the help you can get.

Even if you disagree, where else are you going to put those 5 points?

    Vigor? Umm, no thanks.

Staggering Challenge? You are never even going to have any of those Encounters slotted. Except MAYBE KC once in a great while.

Menacing Impact? Sure I guess 10% more damage on TI would be... nahh no way.

Cruel Cut I covered above, so that leaves us with Reinforced Surge.

*shrug* Seems like an easy decision to me.

This is where the Theory-craft does not match the actual Gameplay.

Prones are the one thing u can put your money on.

    And also

-Shield Resurgence is stupid feat ( do the math based on CD and MAX hp you have and you will see )

-Grit lol .... get them 3 points together and put them either on Pin Down (3/3) or Action Surge (3/5)

-Wrathful Warrior - The only possible way you could benefit from this feat is Having Unstoppable Lol...Before Tenacity you would get pretty solid come-back dmg buff when u pop RaveSkull...Or When the DC dailies. Now there is no practic use of those 5 points right there.Maybe instead you can try Improved Vigor just cuz your dailies are fit and getting them up is your main priority.

-You can go with the Cruel Cut style ... The bonus is not much but its a playstyle thing ,because Crushing Serge is really slow animation and that will get you stuck and open target quite often.

-Fight On* Over Plate Agility* now i've been going up and down with those 2 ...at one point i even had them 2/5 + 3/5 but after all the testing and playing i found out that 0.3s on Lundge Strike and 1.3 second on Frontline are basicly BS compared to 5% Deflect. Even if you are Halfing and have 24DEX roll you should not underestimate that Deflect feat. The thing you could do is to compromise with Skill ( Trying not to miss your encounters and think with your head when attacking/possitioning) Reckless play should be avoided in decent matches.

Tip- If you are able to get the Thayan Book artifact and max it to atleast Lv80 (about 4.4% AP gain) , then 3/5 Action Serge , 5/5 Imrpoved Vigor , 25 CON and some basic recovery ....You build your daily with 9 encounters and 9 at-wills :)

I bought a respec token and tried some different things as you specified.

    1. Shielded Resurgence as you said only gave me 1,240 hp every 30 seconds while being controlled, pretty pathetic as you said when you see HP 4% you're like yeeeehaw. But then you do the math and its like eeeeeew thats like 1 tick of CoI?

    2. I removed the point from Grit, and went action surge, I notice I can use my dailies much more now allowing me to be more utility instead of always waiting for the right time.

    3. I changed Fight on points over to Plate Agility bringing my deflection to 21% however I found myself waiting for Lunging to refresh to catch that HR - CW often! So I respecced back. Don't seem like much .6 /1.3 etc but wow during battle you notice it!

Good stuff keep the tips rolling in! Shieldbash@ripyourlipsoff

    Is Ubiquitous Shield worth anything?
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.
