Now as 3rd module is going live soon I am getting worried about balance of this companion against melee classes that use crits as main source of dps. The Renegade evoker's passive (purple) I have now deals around 1.4k-1.7k (can't remember how much exactly but not lower thank 1.4k for sure) damage to the targets around me in PvE when somebody lands a crit on my character. That would be OP in PvP IMO.
Just imagine, some rogue strikes somebody who has that companion with 3rd hit of Duelist combo and get's like 7-9k damage in their face? The passive has no CD as far as I noticed.
In this game there is no such thing as sportsmanship or fair play. Don't like the Renegade Evoker being used against you? Then open up your wallet and buy your own!
Now imagine if they actually decide to disable companions in open world PvP at some point after all the sales on specific companions (Blacksmith), now that's gonna be amazing to watch.

Very true. Even some so called "big names" are ill with this...
Still, PvP was never supposed to be played with companions so why would that global pvp area be an exception? I know there are going to be heroic encounters and some other st00f but ... autodismiss companions and disable their effects after a player entered PvP battle?

Well, here's your answer, by a dev, from this link:
Companions in PVP-
For now the companions and the bonuses will remain on for this open PVP. When looking at the various types of PVP offerings we realized that this would be different than domination. The PVP gameplay in this next update is a lot different than domination. This is an area we are going to be watching the most.
As a side note, I understand that any competent pvp player will not be hosting pet battles while engaged in active PVP battles but I wonder if there is some emergent gameplay possible where players summon their pets to watch them fight. Maybe after the large battle is won and a company or warriors, sitting on a pile of bodies, can have a laugh as a Leprechaun and a Sprite battle it out. Place your... well you get it.

Has anyone tried Renegade Evoker? The active bonus doesn't have an ICD, so after every critical hit you take it deals aoe damage (scales with your lvl, don't know what damage it does at lvl 60). Could be interesting to test it vs Duelist's Flurry.
Already did. If a TR has no idea that you have it and you have really high HP, they will rip themselves to shreds. You can take away at least a 1/3 of his health by letting him just spam flurry on you until you die without even fighting back (at the uncommon rarity). However, you need high HP/Defense/Deflect to fully use it, since you need to let yourself take damage on purpose and be in the enemy's face. Its pretty funny actually.
Uncommon: 568 damage (good to have; does decent damage for someone simply getting into melee range of you and attacking)
Rare: 1,137 damage (really nice, forces the person to do hit and run strategies on you if they are a melee class and can't burst you down fast enough)
Epic: ? (Guessing ~1.6-1.8k based on the pattern) <- This might be as broken as can be, but don't have an epic version to test with; if someone else want to take the time and do so, be my guest.
Pros: Ignores defense & deflect (from what I can tell), its spammable, good in combination with Blacksmith companion or Fey Thistle boon, and I think it works while you are proned as well (honestly don't remember on this, but I think it did).
Cons: very short range, you have to be very, very close to them for it to hit and you need to be able to take a hit in order to fully use this. If you die in less than 3s with a small amount of high hitting attacks, it won't be doing very much to the enemy. It has a 5 target cap (not really an issue for PvP, but something to note for PvE).
