Looking for tips for hybrid DPS/Tank GF

So, I ran across 2 old threads about Hybrid DPS/Tank GF builds.. one was from Envy and the other from Rokuthy. Seems neither of these people play anymore, and I was wondering if their builds still hold true and what needs to be changed on them. I'm highly interested in running this because I want to be able to have a fun time soloing content but still be a useful GF in groups. Here's the links to those two builds, so if you enjoy this type of thing and run it in game, please leave your pointers here, and you can also contact me in-game via @Hollthulhu.

Right.. but I can't seem to easily find any others, or I'm just over-looking them because they aren't obvious to me. Do you have any suggestions?

Right off the bat, Rokuthy's armor preference is out of date. Bulwark was nerfed a long time ago. Timeless Hero and Knight Captain's armor are considered the favorites right now.

Neither guide considers tenacity and PvP armor, so that would have to be updated.

Some of Envy's skill preferences are out of date too. Griffon's Wrath is considered viable now, and Anvil of Doom is a favorite for some. Thanks to a recent patch these skills were sped up in their animation times. Frontline Surge is still a common sight in PvP, but its effect was changed so that it has a higher target cap and less damage, making it more PvE oriented, hence why you might consider Anvil of Doom, Griffon's Wrath, or Knight's Challenge instead.

His PvP match-up data should be updated as well. Certain types of Rogues (perma-stealth in particular) are extremely dangerous 1 vs 1.

That's all I got for now. A lot of the info in both guides is still somewhat accurate, but you should definitely research and think for yourself too.

Hmmm. Well I mostly PvE, and I've actually not tried PvP yet. I'm just lvl 15 GF.. and honestly speaking, even though I joined in the beginning, I quit at lvl 20 on my rogue and only recently returned after such a long break. I am really liking GF.. but now that I've been in some groups for skirmish and dungeon, it seems I'm not really needed as a "tank" very much. People just pull and DPS things to death and move along. I read that mentality kinda persists through the entire game, currently.. so maybe another reason I'd like to be able to dish more damage instead of turtle so much later on.

Should I consider either of those guides for feats? I don't mind trying to experiment and find a good build for this, and possibly make a guide later, if I am able to succeed. I just need to know what direction to get started and what to aim in achieving. What stats would I want to try to max on my gear and such, ya know? I know I have a long way to go in leveling, but I like to get into a routine. :)

You could follow my hybrid build if you like. it's works well for me pve/pvp. based on envy build with modification.
if you are human you should max out action surge heroic feat.

    hope helps

My build is very similar. I would suggest taking terrifying impact instead of shield talent. Good for interupting guarding GF or unstoppable GWF and I 'd never use shield talent.

My feats are currently a bit different, but will be going with pretty much the same as this at next respec.

Here's my 2 cents as a turtle GF:

If you want to get "perma" aggro on you in pve get Enchant Mark, Threatening Rush, Enforce Threat, Knight Valor(optional since you're going to die a lot with this. I prefer to use Frontline Surge for it's croud control effect) and Villain Menace while "pocking" mobs (attack while shield up). You don't need to out dmg your party, just keep them marked.

In pvp you'll always get the aggro from players so use Supremacy Of Steel and watch the fools kill themselfs (gwf, tr, cw).
