Well duh. Sorry but that's what immediately came to my mind too. I never could work out who was paying more for things on the auction than they cost either in the zen store or the wondrous bazar, now I know I guess. Still, I've been equally dim in the the past, takes time to work your way around all the little details in the meta economy game.
No idea what my toon is now.

Should sticky this after you fix the word Bazaar =P

Honestly I think it is something people never remember or when they learned about the bazaar that they never thought they would have 100k AD. Should never pay more for it than the vendor's cost. These should sell for 80-90k on AH.

Yet, on most days you will see most buy out prices for them on the AH 2-5k ABOVE the 100 mark.

This thread should keep going ! More poeple need to relize that and hopefully prices will be adjusted down to below the 100k mark. (personally even if it was 99k, thats a savings, just wierd that people continue to post it above that mark)

Sooo they can flip and make money off of people like the OP?.. It's messed up, but far from confusing as to why they would do it.

    It starts off like this:

Player 1 finds a GMoP in T1 DD.
    Checks Auction
    Lists for 101k
    Loses the listing fee
    Relists for UNDER 100k.

Player 2 is upgrading their gear.
They need 1 or 2 GMoP
    They check Auction
They buy the cheapest two listed.
    They've paid more than 100k.

Player 3 finds a GMoP in T1 Instance.
Thinks about that all important AH fee, 10k at 100k list price.
Lists at 100K+ to recoup AH fee.

Player X degenerates, realising that for the entire time they have been facilitating trade while others were laughing at their willingness to pay more from a person than direct from a store NPC.

The cycle seems complete, for now.....

Rumours from the Northern reaches speak of a new resource that is impossible to find outside of the area, the ill-fated Black Ice Enchantment....

In the distance, the cogs of the AH-workers' machinery starts to drown out the cries of adventurers parted with refined Astral Diamonds in a process that will be looked back on as Hexamagickery.

***If you avoided the immersion as this thread descended into a debacle, you likely paid less than 100k for your GMoP.***

Oh boy, what a waste. You should have kept it to yourself and bought them for 100k AD and resold them for 120k, because that is how you make profit! People are sometimes too convenient, too lazy or just do not care for it. It makes the best profits.
    Stay frosty.

Naw.. Power to the uninformed. I'd rather see people get their items without the greedy BS that comes with selling things for over their normal price ...

I'd much rather buy these purple marks from the AH and have another player use my AD's rather than dump the AD's on an NPC that pretty much deletes the 100k AD's I spent for the mark.

When you have certain wealth and you're buying some stuff in AH often the 10 seconds of your life required to buy from bazaar (because you often forget the icon above) are more valuable than the extra 1-2k, also what someone said, i'd rather pay some player than sink it in the npc.

I'd rather put my diamonds on a natural AD sink rather than inflating my AD.

You do realize that the person who sold it ended up getting less than 100k ad because of the house cut, right? Granted, you could've bought for 100k ad from wondrous bazaar lol.
I hear "learn to play" all the time, but it seems to me that it should be defined as "my class is balanced, except when others beat it, then THAT class is OP"...

Yes and yes, I could save 4K AD (I don't care if who sold it won more or less than 100K), that's why I put a crying face like this D':

Stop inflating my AD and buy greater marks from the bazaar next time

On the other hand, taking ADs out of the economy very, very slightly increases the value of all the AD you have left over and will produce from refining in the future. Of course, there's the AH fees that help with that as well. Either way, I'm not going to pay more than the vendor price.

Hey, Mac. Yeah, I guess we can say that it'd be good in the long run for the economy, but I just feel like it'd be much better to help others by having them use the AD's that would have gotten deleted by buying the mark from the NPC. Because who knows, maybe one of those guys will discover something neat because he had enough AD's to complete a certain build he's been cooking up. It's a game, after all. We're here to have fun with its content and not worry about some simplistic virtual economy.

But that's just one guy's way of seeing things.

Cool. *buys another GMoP from AH* You can worry about it for me.

Me, I don't really care. I buy the marks from the npc(except blue marks, they actually are cheaper in ah, if youre patient and check so often :) ).

Well if you like to help others (even though I'd argue those people who are savvy enough and have enough capital to invest in that sort of behavior which cryptic doesn't approve of: ie see cryptic requesting to take out that method out of Trace's Astral Diamonds post don't necessarily need that "help") good for you. Your intentions are in the right place I guess?

Anyway, I still believe in astral diamond sinks and inflation especially since the amount of new players coming in are decreasing.

But, its not against the TOS so people are free to purchase their greater marks from wherever.

Are Greater marks of potency not vulnerable to the problems plaguing rank 5-7 enchantments? If they are, I'd much rather send my AD to an AD sink than give it to people using questionable methods to acquire them.

The drop rate is very very very low so if that is your concern, now they are not vulnerable
