Sigh. I'm tired of those pansy Elves and those pathetic upstart Thayan [airquotes] "Wizards."
Amateurs.
I'm a tired old necromancer that cheats death everyday. I've adventured through areas guards have told me was certain death for me at the time. Proved them wrong. As usual. I hate repetition, and am often known to throw my Zen around to entertain myself with new trinkets. And this joker wants boons. *double-facepalm* Sigh.
I've already acquired 4 of the 13 Thayan trinkets required.
I suppose I'll venture back into the Dread Ring when I can stomach it and the horrible dust.
Could be months before I manage to book passage, and I expect there will no longer be anything intriguing to buy with my loose Zen.
Ah well, perhaps this new portal I've discovered will unveil interesting adventures in the meantime.
Sgt. Knox informs me the Death Forge is fully operational. Again.
Can't these guards hold any ground? I just went through there last week and destroyed every Thayan in the place. Including some fool calling himself "Jawbone." That's all I left of him....AGAIN.
Guess I'll check in with Sgt. Knox again another day.
Some days it's just not worth getting out of the house robes.
As expected, Lord Neverembers elite army couldn't hold water if you gave them a bucket.
Jawbone has been resurrected and up to his old tricks in the Death Forge. Sigh.
Can't we just collapse that place.
Rode in to take care of it AGAIN. On the way some Thayan "Wizards" thought they'd
get a few summoning rings up and running. Right along my path to the Death Forge.
Fools. Scratch 3 rings and dozens of Thayan [airquote] "Wizards." At least it gave
me a bit of time to stretch.
Stomped through Death Forge...again. What a waste of undead bodies.
Hmm. Maybe I'll hold my staff in my left hand this time. Hmm, what's this
slip of paper in my robes... ah... notes on Sudden Storm. Why, I haven't
cast that spell in ages.
I do enjoy lightning. Okay, took out Jawbone with Sudden Storm.
Nostalgic. Maybe all that lightning will finally destroy that menace.
I hear what you are saying. I can barely stomach sharandar. I have just enough swords and seeds and whatever the other thing is to get my final boon, and now i just run in, kill redcaps until 3 dealies drop, get my 10 sparks and leave. 1 a week i get 60, and have to run a dungeon that is absolutly 0 challenge, and is exactly the same...every....single....time.
Jawbone! How ya been? How are the minions? What? They were guarding the Death Forge?
Ooops. Sorry. Well, it gives you something to do while I'm gone.
Hold on - I want to introduce you to my friend the shopkeeper from Aurora's catalog.
He just loves it when I summon him into huge battles (he so rarely gets out).
Uh oh! Watch out! He's going to throw his little molotov cocktail at you!
Haha! Isn't that cute - almost like monkeys flinging poo. ...and he's run away again.
Cute li'l fella.
Oh yeah -- I've got a surprise for you!
I went through all my old spell tomes and studied lots of old spells I haven't used in decades.
Shall we begin? ...go ahead, you go first.
(I like to let her feel like she's accomplishing something.)
...So you're complaining that something takes 13 measly days of running a single incredibly short and easy dungeon a day, none of which take more than ten minutes, including travel time. Are you REALLY that easily bored? Just suck it up and go run your daily lair quest. You don't need the daily quests from the side characters for the boons, you just need the lair. Go to Dread Ring. Grab whatever the daily lair quest is. If it's Saturday/Sunday, Phantasmal Fortress is the fastest, especially if you're an AoE class, though even TR has zero issue with it(And kills the boss fastest).
Not to mention the free greater mark of *foo* five days a week. It's less than two weeks of logging in daily and spending a whopping ten minutes playing, and while you're doing it you're gaining actual real rewards for it. Those marks? Great for your matching artifacts. Occasional purple item dropping from chest? A bit more free RAD. Those boons? Incredibly useful for play. If you have adamantine gauntlet, you might even get an artifact you can't get elsewhere that's actually fairly decent for the stats it gives you. So yeah, a couple of weeks of quick runs for some boons that will greatly benefit you and make you stronger, and bring some fringe benefits along with it. Hell, you aren't even running the same lair quest every day, it rotates throughout the week and you get to choose which one on Weekends. EVERYTHING in the game is repetitive, so I'm not sure what makes <10 minutes running through the Dread Spire worse than 20 minutes running Temple of the Spider yet again for the 80th time and salvaging your 29th HV armor piece because nobody seems to want to do anything but ToS.
gentlemen (and ladies), the OP of this thread REGULARLY spends HOURS working on Foundry quests (making them, not playing them) and complains that he doesnt have time to do a 10 minute lair once a day.
His misfortune is of his own making.
Continuing to pay attention to his whining about something he can obviously fix himself with minimal effort is unproductive.
OP is a roleplayer, and from what I can tell he's a fairly strict one at that. That's not to say there aren't RP-friendly ways of handling Dread Ring, but the both of you display the typical arrogant ignorance the internet is famous for. Especially you, Asmodeus.
People play this game different ways, and the least you can do is show some respect for someone else doing something the way they enjoy doing it.
I pity the both of you, being unable to understand something so simple.

I understand RP quite well and enjoy it myself quite a bit. the simple fact is that, while this particular thread has been presented in an RP fashion, the OP has been making this same gripe across multiple threads on multiple sections of the Forums.
that my tolerance for it was broken by this particular thread is entirely incidental

You must have gotten bored with it exceptionally quickly.
Decided to ride over to Dread Ring again today.
