Knight of the Feywild Pack how to gift it to someone?

Hi all

Not sure it's the right place to ask, but I'll try anyway.

I want to buy the Knight of the Feywild Pack from the Arc website to give it as a gift to someone but there's no indication if it's possible to buy it for somebody else.

Anyone knows how can I do it or, most importantly, if I can do it?

No you cannot gift zen items or zen in neverwinter , it's the first F2P game I've come across that doesn't have the option , FAQ isn't much help either ,it suggests sending the person cash using paypal and then let them buy it xD

It's not possible to gift anything from the cash shop or one of the packs. You'd have to just give them the money, which would sort of mess up the gift value. Changing this has been suggested before.

Pretty sure you can if you buy it on Steam.

And unlike with Star Trek Online, the Neverwinter folks haven't started putting their major update Pack items into the Zen store. They still cost the same, but you buy them in-game with Zen rather than separately with a credit card. It's was an incredibly good idea, IMO, I wish they'd do it with Neverwinter. If that were the case, you could just give (mail) your friend a Rixty card(s) worth that amount of money -- they could, of course, choose not to use it, but that's about as close as you can come. They should provide a way to purchase unlock codes though for a couple reasons.

    1) People, like the OP, would like to give them as gifts to friends.
    2) Guilds (like mine) would likely have members willing to donate the codes as guild game prizes. We, for example, hold contests (races, hide-and-seek, even trivia) where the winners receive all manner of things, which includes unlock codes for companions and such members have donated (also, keys, idols, purple mounts, etc are common prizes). No doubt we'd have a few of our more open-wallet members buying packs for distribution.

On the other hand, I can see a major reason they DON'T do this. They don't want people selling the packs on Ebay or otherwise reselling them. I'm not entire sure WHY they would care, unless people are using them to scam, since they're getting their asking price anyway. And besides, people sell their accounts (despite that it's stupid and against the rules) and probably people scam that way anyway. You can't keep out all the riffraff after all. We also know they already have a promotion code unlock system in place...

I'm not sure I can come up with a solid business reason for not giving us this option - only tenuous ones. Probably simple risk-aversion, or perhaps a decision handed down by Legal -- I've worked at various companies and organizations for close to 20 years Universities to exceptionally large software companies... one thing that is a constant: Legal teams are universally risk-averse and are the biggest impediment to innovation within any company or organization. *shrug* whatcha gonna do?

It would be an easy thing to do: Simply offer everything (or at least the premium items like the packs) as a CODE.

For example: Purchase the pack or purchase the CODE. Purchasing the code allows me to give that code to a friend - they get the pack; instant GIFT. I was given a code for a Hunter Ranger Booster pack, but had already purchased it. So I simply gave the code away to someone, they claimed it and got their HR Booster pack. It worked great.

@Cryptic: allows us to purchase CODES for items such as the Hero or Guardian or Feywild or any Booster packs, so we can gift them to others.

As for the caution of 'reselling' them on places like Ebay - easy: disable the code. Second Life has an in-world currency called Linden Dollars that can actually be exchanged for legal tender CASH. When millions of these L$ appeared on e-bay, they simply disabled them and blocked them. Word got out quickly and they (the illegitimate version) eventually disappeared from ebay, etc.

Thanks for the answers guys. I'll probably buy it from Steam (so thanks for the suggestion, katbozejziemi); it costs a little bit more, but it's worth it, considering this is supposed to be a (very welcome) surprise.

And, btw, @kvet, your guild sounds awesome!

I was going to buy this one, but its really a 50/50 proposition here.

I am not in the mood to start a brand new character and make him a moon elf. I would actually make my current character one but you can't transform your race with this pack. And I'm not exactly enthused about a Unicorn mount, though I imagine selling it would fetch a hefty chunk of AD.

But the rest of the pack would be nice... if I could transform my current character to moon elf rather than have to start a new one from scratch.

, though I imagine selling it would fetch a hefty chunk of AD.

It might if you could, but you cant.

Anything that is given to you as account wide and infinitely claimable HAS to be made BoP. Otherwise you could just claim and sell, to your hearts content. So unless you want a replay of the recent ioun stone of radiance incident. You simply wont be able to sell any of the account wide unlocks, from ANY of the packs.
