ok, got to lvl 60, been grinding for boons and what not, participated in skirmishes, tried dungeons.
will NOT pvp, forgotten realms, was NEVER about pvp!!!
yet, geee ruin the game with the **** queue, lets see maybe one dungeon delve once every 4 hours? if your lucky
queue for 30 minutes, finally get into party for DD, party wipes early party collapses in leaves, sooooo right back into queue, get in with 4 minutes left, and,,,,,,,,people leave, they leave because they don't like the team comp? 2 tr's, auto that dc, and cm leave, so booted out, and totally missed DD.
orrrrrrrrr, sit in queue for 30 minutes, just to get dropped into the end of somebody elses failed final boss battle, so you miss out on the first couple boss's just to get a end chest!!!!!!!!
this ruins the game, sorry time after time, day after day this is happening to me. it ruins the game, its a UPHILL fight for casual players to get into a DD, then once your in, if your whole **** team doesnt jive, and know what there doing, its a failed run, with 9 outa 10 times getting **** for loot for your hours of working trying.
the one thing that ruins the whole game, is this experience, day after day, week after week, and its been like this since beta!
now its even worse, because pvp, and GG takes 4 hours, plus, professions, foundry and skirmishes, so thats 6 hours between available DD runs. just to fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry i support the game in cash like many others, but this if it is not FIXED for the better, will make me move on.
You should try to form party using the ''looking for group'' chat, dont queue directly. Form your group before and then go in, you will find yourself in a way better group and possibly make some friend on the way!
I would not suggest to ask for a fix and threatening to leave the game as its againts the terms of services and your thread might get closed for it..
tho you are right, the queue system as it is curently is useless to do dd as group fail/leave/ninja loot this way.. But again, forming your own group using lfg chat is easy..
.
Founder back a week ago, already pissed by cryptic ''no roll back'' decision
It's actually a lot worse doing DD as a solo player compared to before since the vote kick system came into place. It's heavily abused. I can't begin to tell you how many times, I've completed a dungeon just to get vote kicked off before I could could get my chest and roll on the loot.
I carry more than my own weight in dungeons, yet, someone disagrees with your strategy, he can abuse the vote kick and kicked you off. Don't like how this player plays, abuse the vote kick and kick him. Don't like having another of the same class as you to roll on loot, abuse the vote kick and kick him after he spent 2 hours on the dungeon. Didn't see something someone said in local instead of party chat? Abuse the vote kick and kick that player. It has become such that who clicks vote kick the fastest after beating the boss wins.
This nonsense is put in place by Cryptic, and it propagates abuse and exploitation of other players for self profit. What can you do?
how is this against terms of service?
they already got money from me, they should be held accountable for providing a miserable experience and waist of time.
and if this is how they treat casual players who actually give money, well,,,,,they can close this, and i will blog, and use social media for warning.
i have to exagerated the experience, i have not lied or twisted the truth in anyway. as a casual player, or even a new player, if they have THESE experiences, they will leave.
No it is not a fix for casual player experience. The queue system is terrible I agree.
It seems the guilds you join do not fit you very well. Keep searching the guild recruitment forums for more or try the NW_Legit_Community channel
Yes, try the legit channel and/or form a team and then queue. Depending upon your class and the dungeon you are queuing for, there can be a lot of people "in line". I'm not sure how many simultaneous instances of each dungeon that can be running, or if the issue is that there aren't enough DCs/GFs that want to run a particular dungeon, but either can be a factor in causing the long solo-queue wait times...

I so agree with the OP on this, DD is abused, and not doable for the Casual gamer.
Someone mentioned "Join a Guild". Right, what part of Casual Gamer do you not understand?
I play odd hours due to work, rarely the same time frame, and rarely get more than an hour to do anything. Even when I do get more than an hour, hoping that a DD is active, AND enough "Guild-Mates" are on and not already grouped for their own D run, is next to impossible.
So, DD is out of the play for me, which means I end up missing access to a lot of end game content, that could be very useful. No Malabog, no Valindra, nothing.
Please, for the love of God, implement a Daily DD Key system, so us Casual gamers can actually have a chance to do some of them, and might have the incentive to get together with other like mind casual gamers, and try to complete them.

Dungeon delves keys have already been confirmed for mod 3.
There are casual guilds out there, I am in one right now and we like to set up DDs ahead of time on our forums. So yes if you want to get away from the dreaded Q do have a look at other guilds or join the legit channel.

Greycloaks are under a new (and good) administration recently, they are certainly a casual guild.
Of course if you just log in, don't know the class, don't have a teacher, and you try to run DD through Q it is going to be very difficult.
Back in the day when i was gearing up, it took weeks or months to learn the dungeons. If anything this game is way easier now than it was then because of artifacts and pets and whatnot.
However, if dungeons were easier, things would be so faceroll easy for vetrans, so they have to be hard for new players. That's good though, because if you can complete everything in a week or two, what's the point?
well the key system sounds good, only, if its gonna be a cash sink, or ad sink that makes it unprofitable, then in reality its a fail.
I think you mis-understand.
my concept of the Key system (And one others have addressed in many threads, to help fine tune is thus:
Dungeon Delves continue on the timer system, however, once per day, a player may get a key (Similar to Sharandar and Dread Ring) for entry into a DD that is useable at any time.
No way to get extra keys per day. Just the one. Of course, if you can play the normal DD rotations, due to not having other commitments, then you can use them instead.
hope so, just getting real old, trying to grind gear and income from dungeons.
im geared decent, have set of t2 after weeks of work, just as a pugging goes, its a failed system, and you are penalized harshly for failed attempts, and crappy die rolls, then you end up waisting YOUR time if you cannot even get to the chest.
that chest is really the only thing that makes a dungeon worth it, just simply because the other bosses in the dungeon, you have to "fight" and hope for best die roll.
ya, the thing, this does not serve as a fix for new players, or casual players. have to come to forums to learn this?
and i have tried 2 guilds so far,
both more interested in PVP, and GG,
so with them i get a dungeon once every 3 days.
yet they advertised as PVE
So? If a guild doesn't turn out the way you want it to be, just leave. Nothing bad will happen if you do.
I always talk to a recruiter and explain what I am looking for in a guild. If they tell me that's what they offer, I'll tell them, how about we do a trial run, where I can quit if it doesn't turn out as expected, no hard feelings (note that this is usually the other way around, where the guild gives you the trial period).
I used to be very busy in game, but my playtime has tanked a bit lately. I'm still in the guild. When I have time and I see someone that needs help, I always offer it. This is not the first guild I'm in, far from it.
You need to put in the effort to find a good relationship, or get extremely lucky. But, as in life, luck is limited. Go out there, meet people, and have fun!
As far as the "join a guild" or use the legit channel suggestions:
I've joined 3 guilds so far - same thing every time, either the guild is too small for consistent groups or so large that
you cant get past the cliquishness. Occassionally (rarely), I can get a group in the nw_legit channel.
But it's like everything else, they want their CW/DC/GF, not my dps class.
Occassionally (rarely), I can get a group in the nw_legit channel.

I have been on Legit a while and although some members only want to run with 3CW GWF DC combos etc, a lot will take almost any combination. That having been said certain classes are totally unbalanced both positively and negatively in PvE and if you feel affected by this, the best recourse is to start a (respectful) thread so that this issue is not forgotten.
P.S. Did you actually mean GF, as they aren't essential anywhere at present as the mobs in the final fight in Frozen Heart can easily be kited by a DC, and a GWF (with Bravery slotted) is not a bad choice there either. Even done it on my HR......
EDIT: Unless you you are talking about extremely high level parties where a GF with Knight Captain Set acts as a buff-bot for 3+CWs? But those are really optimized end-game (usually CN) farming runs, and not that often seen in /Legit.

Queue usually brings out the worst, if someone queues, they feel they have the right to just need everything instead of greeding. Thats why people set up groups under LFG or Legit channel or something. Even if you set up a group under LFG, its no sure thing, sometimes you get some pretty nasty people. Legit is mostly ok, no channel is perfect.
That being said, got in to a PK run yesterday with queue at the VERY last second with like 45 seconds remaining (I just did some random queuing hoping to find a group , since I logged in with less then a min to go. )
Tank dropped like a min in, no issue really, TR dropped at the last boss, we 3 manned it with no real issues.
Did a LFG group last night for a PK greed run and it was horrendous! LOl.. Maybe one of the worst runs Ive seen since I started. WE did get it done, but not without much griefing. So who knows.
BTW my guild is dead, has been for awhile, Ive mostly pugged since the start of my playing time in end of Novemeber time frame. I would say 80% of my pug runs end up well, with everyone greeding, doing thier job and being mostly friendly. Sometimes there are language barriers, sometimes poeple just refuse to listen.. sometimes you get blamed even if your doing your job (or lord forbid, actually make a mistake once in awhile.. ha)
since they change the times of DD runs, you should technically find times where you could join, Im pretty casual in the terms cant play for huge stretches at one time, so miss out on DD run hours all the time. Join them when you can, you can always farm tokens to exchange for salvage pieces as well, greed runs outside of the hours work ok as well, do PK like 40 times and you can rack up a few 100k AD typically.
I also like Legit runs because the people in there dont expect you to know the stupid glitches in the game, I was in CN the other night, never did it with the stupid jumping lantern post thing and it took me 15 mins to figure out where to go, team was pretty upset I think, but then again, IF we just cleared legit through, we wouldve been there already! But there are all sorts of definitions of 'legit' sometimes people think all avoidance of mobs is wrong, so they pull everything, to me if you can bypass a enemy mob without doing some weird glitchy thing , I have no issue with that. But to each their own.
But there are all sorts of definitions of 'legit' sometimes people think all avoidance of mobs is wrong, so they pull everything, to me if you can bypass a enemy mob without doing some weird glitchy thing , I have no issue with that. But to each their own.
I think for most of the people in Legit, if you can get by it without leaving the area the devs intend for you to be in and it doesn't aggro, it's fine to skip. I've been in the channel since late November and run with most of the 'top' players there and not once has someone complained about running past that *one* magma brute before Pyraphenia or the giants or whatever. If someone does aggro it, we kill it and do the best we can. Same thing will Spell, there are tons of mobs off to the side or guarding extra tomes or whatever that there's no reason to pull so people just run by.
While there has been some controversy (the MoC/Slam thing being most notable) the consensus seems to be, don't leave the play area, don't do anything to make the boss/mobs unable to attack you. There may be some specific things beyond that, but that's the gist.
As far as using the channel to find groups, it's a great place. Everyone should be upfront about their experience level though. Also, some people do build parties looking for specific classes. Some want a few specifics and save a slot or two for whoever asks. Others just grab whoever volunteers. Don't hold it against the channel if someone doesn't want your particular class. The people forming groups aren't representatives of the channel and no one can or should stop them from making the team they want.
"We have always been at war with Dread Vault" ~ Little Brother
Good example of non-glitch smart avoidance is in Karrundax. Just before the first boss there are a pile of mobs that if you kill them, a second set spawn. If you kill all the mobs with careful pulls except for 2 of the mobs, you leave enough room to run past without agro'ing the remaining mobs and making the much tougher second set spawn.
No glitching, just smart pulling, then moving on.

As someone who does a lot of CN farming runs, and some who despises the draco glitch, it's not because i look for specific classes to do the run (i've done it in many different composistions), but there is always a priority list here:
1) Guildmates - as guild leader it sets a bad example if i leave someone out of a run so i always take guildmates first.
2) Friends - after that i'll check my friends list for people i normally run with and enjoy playing with.
3) The waiting list - there's actually a list of people i am meaning to take into CN, who have asked me several times, and i would like to get in.
In addition, it is difficult to take more than one new person at a time, as there is an amount of group chemistry to the run. Hence if I am going to play with a new person, i am going to only take one new person per run, unless i have been assured from someone i know that they are experienced.
There are other issues too, my groups have a different rythm and timing to them than others. How we pull, where we pull to, etc... since we all play together often the pulls are normally the same no matter who is in the group
Second issue is timing of the rotation on top of each other, our CWs/GWF stack mobs and debuffs to eliminate them quickly, which requires a good group awareness. This takes some time to teach.
Thirdly, just sometimes rotation and gear. I've seen spellstorms with 3000+ crit and running enfeeble, chill strike, sudden storm, shard. Not only does running enfeeble cut your DPS significantly, that bar has so little control that if my control wasn't so **** good, we would certainly wipe.
Fourthly - group awareness. Group must always stick with the guy in front, you need to be aware of where your teammates are, when are they casting their dailies, etc... time it all together.
5th - simple targeting, in group where i saw #3 the CWs would cast singularity 15-20 off draco. This is very bad, it must be on his torso. Hence we spend effort correcting the error, moving the singularity to draco, which wastes time and damage, slows down the kill, and great increases the wipe chance.
There are other non-gameplay issues:
1) We always greed all, split draco. I sell the loot and split in keys. It's not an option to do it another way, so if someone doesn't like doing it this way, we just won't do the run.
2) We use raidcall to communicate - if someone is inexperienced, i'm glad to walk them through it, but if they don't get on raidcall they spend the time trying to figure out what's going on.
3) Well, some personalities don't go with the flow. If i'm putting a run together, let me run it. I really can't stand when one person runs off and does their own thing while everyone else is on the same page. Truly dries me nuts.
Hence, there are a lot of issues taking new people to CN. That's why i normally take people who i've had some time to talk to and get to know, and who are ready in terms of gear and experience, and also come equipped with a good attitude. Hence, if I ever feel the need to pug, I will either
a) not run it
b) log off
just no point in going through that effort with someone you don't know and won't play with again.
I have had one particular habitué of Legit freak out badly when I suggested walking past the Drider and small pack at the top of the falling column in ToS (during a delve, where time is of the essence). He continued to whine and insult for several minutes, until I became exasperated, and remarked that "only a cretin" would regard walking past inactive mobs as an exploit, and that it was standard practise in this and many other MMOs.
He then started to cast aspersions on my sexual preferences in increasingly broken and typo-riddled psuedo-English, getting to the point of complete unprintability. The homophobic tirade continued when we got to the last camp fire, where he refused to enter the boss fight.
That, dear reader, is the only person from Legit that I have on ignore. The rest of them are generally friendly, courteous and well-meaning. Some are a little bewildered, but if they read enough English, you can usually come to a sensible accommodation. Only once did a group have to kick someone after clearly stating upfront that it was an all-greed multi-run, and this particular person just needed on everything. Generally, you meet a better class of loony there, who really improve your gaming time.
Yeah, legit does seem to be slowly (slowly) declining into a slightly better version of LFG, which is kinda annoying. Definite increase in "LFG VT NEED CW/GWF 15K+ GS PLZ" posts, which isn't really what legit should be about.
"Need three warm bodies for karru" <--join these groups
"Need 2xCWs for PK must be exp" <---laugh at these groups
Well as the channel gets more and more people in it. You will start to see more and more people joining less for legit reasons and more simply because its where the crowd is. This will always lead to a decline in standards and purpose.
However, I'm glad to see the channel tends to self regulate as best it can. With little more then patience, education, and a bit of peer pressure. The few who actually lash out against this, rarely stay long.
I have had one particular habitué of Legit freak out badly ...
Yes, I remember being in chat when that came up and I know who you're referring to.
ETA: I will say that I don't like skipping that - not due to legit reason as you don't leave the play area - but because it doesn't unlock the campfire and there are two potentially very rough pulls just before Syndryth.
Only once did a group have to kick someone after clearly stating upfront that it was an all-greed multi-run, and this particular person just needed on everything. Generally, you meet a better class of loony there, who really improve your gaming time.
I had that happen on Saturday. I know your username from the channel but can't remember your character(s) Maybe it was the same group. At any rate, I've had a few issues with people who refused to greed. Most of the time it got worked out. A few times there was some drama.

Oh, this was a few weeks ago, so probably not the same group.
The sad thing is that I don't think this guy even did it on purpose- I think he was Polish, and basically read no English at all- so probably didn't understand why the group votekicked him

Well as someone who generally will do any dungeon anytime just for fun. Yes the queuing system is hosed up. Half the time you jump in your walking into a failed instance. So you've got 3 people sitting there waiting on 2 other classes at the final boss fight. So you've missed the entire dungeon.
I will do even low tier dungeons just because I haven't done them in a while.. or I'm fishing for a gear title. And yes I've been through every dungeon at this point and know all the boss fights. I dont generally like to do one dungeon over and over. No, going in with a newbie team doesn't bother me... heck everyone needs to learn how to do them sooner or later and running them through with someone who knows what they're doing and can give tactics is a big help.
But yes some people have no patience. I've done Valindras Tower before where someone in the random queue announced they'd just unlocked the zone that day and half the party suddenly left the group. I was like geez guys everyone has to start somewhere. Give him a chance at least he was honest and asked for tactics that's the type you WANT to work with. Because they're willing to learn.
They need to make changes to the queuing system thou with alternate variations of parties that are just as viable for that dungeon are queued as well.
IMO the best solution to finding dungeon runs is finding a good guild. That said Im going to do the most constructive thing I can and extend and olive branch to the players having difficulties. If you really want to find a good guild to run dungeons and learn the game Im willing to take guildless people or those shopping for a new guild on a run. I dont care if you're undergeared (as long as you have an 8.3 to get into Teir 2's your good) I care if you listen and follow instructions. If you can do that I will happily take you on a run through any Teir 2 or even a Malabog castle 2/3 run (not VT because she actually requires geared players) so you can get a feel for us and we can get a feel for you. Consider it a potential recruitment run if you like
The thing is our group is pretty much the night shift in our guild but we usually do 3-4 runs per delve and the best part is we split loot at the end so when something good like a set piece sells everyone gets 1/5th of the profit. Yeah you might miss out on drops but we will run the same dungeon for guildies over and over and over again to get them their set pieces from the delve chests. It may take 70+ runs but you'll get it eventually and you'll be making money in the mean time
The only things you need to bring is a character with an 8.3k+ gearscore (to get into Teir 2's), an adult attitude, and a willingness to learn (having mumble installed will also help). If you can provide that send me an in game mail and I will work out a time when we can take you on a run. This applies to everyone not just bulletchamber

No glitching, just smart pulling, then moving on.

"Need three warm bodies for karru" <--join these groups
"Need 2xCWs for PK must be exp" <---laugh at these groups
However, I'm glad to see the channel tends to self regulate as best it can. With little more then patience, education, and a bit of peer pressure. The few who actually lash out against this, rarely stay long.
ETA: I will say that I don't like skipping that - not due to legit reason as you don't leave the play area - but because it doesn't unlock the campfire and there are two potentially very rough pulls just before Syndryth.
The sad thing is that I don't think this guy even did it on purpose- I think he was Polish, and basically read no English at all- so probably didn't understand why the group votekicked him
I will do even low tier dungeons just because I haven't done them in a while.. or I'm fishing for a gear title.
