First off, thanks for trying to make PVP more enjoyable, I have played a dozen or more games by now and have to say as a whole, pvp IS more enjoyable (for me). Games dont take as long, I think there is more room for player skill rather than gear/class discrepancy, and the changes SEEM to be heading in the right direction.
That said, I want to give some Feedback I think MANY other players would agree with.
1) PVP QUE TIMES ARE TOO LONG
- This isnt anything new, and you guys have been addressing that. The only thing I can encourage is to continue to monitor the que times and try and bring them down. Under 1-2 minutes is obviously too low since that typically means not a very "good" match up. Anywhere from 5-10 minutes is probably an ideal time and 15 minutes + is when people start getting mad... 2) NOBODY REALLY KNOWS HOW ELO WORKS, OR WHAT THEIR ELO IS
- This is honestly a big concern because instead of helping players feel empowered you guys are quite honestly keeping people in the dark and when people are kept in the dark, they get frustrated about things they dont understand. What I would HIGHLY recommend is helping people understand:
- How does elo rating in a group que work? Does it average them? Does it try and find a similar elo rating comp? does it base rating off the top player?
- What is each persons ELO rating? How do you know if you are with a high elo person or a low one...
These things are REALLY important as it enables players to have more flexibility and competition around elo ratings. It will also help people in forming groups to help alleviate que times.
3) SEALS ARE TOO HARD TO GET, NOTHING TO DO ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR DAILY DONE.
- Once you do the daily, pvp starts getting really boring ESPECIALLY since there is no "visible" elo rating... #2 would fix this some, but I would HIGHLY recommend you guys consider more ways for players to feel they are accomplishing getting Seals. Heck you can increase the cost of pieces of gear to compensate for being able to get more gear. For instance if its a 4 hour CD on the quest, that gives a max of 6 seals per day, so maybe increase the piece costs by 50% so that it takes longer, but gives more farming opportunity.
TWO options:
- reduce the "daily pvp" quest to a 4-5 hour quest. This enables people who want to play more to play more and have a reason to play more.
OR
- give "seals" to winning teams during the pvp hour only. This gives even more incentive to pvp during the pvp hour and again gives people more incentive to do pvp more throughout the day.
I think part of the reason que times are bad is people are trying to farm the gifts but also once they do the daily, there is no point to do more. Its more about getting the coins than trying to farm glory....
If you guys address those three things I think alot of people will be happy.

The Elo system doesn't really vary other than the numbers which are plugged into it. It is designed to rate a player's skill level and is not reliant on any one score.
A person could be a very highly geared player but still not be a good player skill wise.
Similarly a person could be low geared and still be incredibly skilled.
Thus the Elo system should match people in a manner which places them into challenging matches by measuring what ultimately is the chances of their success against specific adversaries. And without being able to see your Elo rating there is no way to judge your score however looking up the Elo System should give you a basic understanding of how it works.
This isn't something Cryptic made up. It is used by virtually every PvP game in the world however it will take time for everybody to be accurately scored and thus there will be issues with queuing for a bit. That will naturally improve with time but Cryptic will be changing some numbers to improve the experience for those on the extremes of the system atm.

4) Matches are too long. With the new match-making, we're getting more even matches. That's great and kudos to Cryptic. However, matches that last over an hour?! I'd love to see a time limit (perhaps 30-40 minutes).
5) Glory rewards are too small. Especially for longer matches.
I'll add: we need a pvp character sheet using our current character gear sheet enchants (which will be the pve page). Storing 50 sets and removing enchantments everytime is very tedious and expensive.
If your matches last more than 15 mins you're doing something wrong. I've been telling on most threads since yesterday: USE DEBUFFS. But no one ever reads.
What ambisinister is saying about ELO scares me a lot. He seems to be implying that it uses scores.
Real ELO uses win/loss only.
The scoring system displayed by Neverwinter (personal score) is horribly unfair. Tanks and healers get much less personal score than dpsers. If kill rate is used in Neverwinter's ELO rating, then clerics and guardians will be low in the ratings, and rogues will dominate the ratings. Its actually worse than that too; the best players who sacrifice for the team and contest points get the lowest ratings, while selfish players who fight off the points and just go for killing blows get the highest.
The personal rating does not account for healing, damage mitigation, debuffing or point contesting, which are all hugely important for winning matches.

Any implication that personal PvP scores in game were used was unintentional.
More or less saying it doesn't take those into account.
However most Elo systems are modified as the original one was created to judge chess score alone. Normally games, particularly those with gear scores, will use those in its equations as well although will make it play a minor role. Whether Cryptic did this not not, though, is unknown to me.

Yes yes, Healing Depression makes my healer depressed
Due to the lack of transparency of the ELO system implemented for this game's PVP, the idea that personal score rating may be a factor is depressing as well. I hope that the devs will allow clerics other ways to gain points (as suggested here) ....

Did a 1 hour 17 mins match today, receive 500 glory in the end as the WINNING side.
7) Matches are still as unbalanced as before.
I played over 15 matches and I'm still getting matchmaked with 10k GS people against 15k GS people.
Cleric can't outsustain anyone anymore. I have 30k hp, 38% DR and 20% resistances from tenacity (my deflect is very low, I'm not even mentioning it). Before the update I had 26k hp and ~30% DR and I could survive like 3 times more effective. My self healing is nonexistent. My damage is nonexistent.
GWFs are still killing people withing 1 encounter rotation.
In general in the very first few matches I thought I loved new PVP, it has become more fun when people don't oneshot one another anymore. But then I realized that I was lucky to be matсhmaked with and against equally geared people. Those matches ended up 1000/925, 1000/870, 1000/980 etc. Now I think it sucks.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz

As far as clerics not being able to sustain anymore.. I completely agree. I don't WANT to go dps or buff spec, I want to be a straight healer. And I can no longer do that- I tried respeccing and re-enchanting everything several times. I gave up last night, and quit the game
The worse part about healing depression and tenacity is that it had no effect what so ever on the OP god mode of the GWF.
wasnt that most of the purpose for healing depression.
So the whole Idea of bringing the GWF into level with the rest of the classes did nothing at al to balance the GWF.
So are GWF ever gonna be balanced or should we just consider that class OP god mode and thats just the way it will be?
I still cant get myself to play mine its not challenging.I just kill everything to dam easy. Only class I have problem with is anothes GWF or a good GF.everything else is just boring easy kill free snack lol
ok to be fair every blue moon I come across a really good CW that kicks my butt but that is extremely rare.

+1
No more prearranged friendlies, independent tourneys, etc. Big fail in my opinion.

Not true. GWFs way easier to kill. The best ones still really tough, but its not as inconceivable to bring one down now -- provided there are numbers.
If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'
Good synopsis of the Elo ranking system.
