Top 5 companions for TR

As you all know, the companions that you put into 5 active slots gives you their Active Bonuses, even when they are not summoned. You get 5 Active Bonuses from all 5 companions at same time. Active Bonuses that give plain stats also increase your GS, but you can choose companions with some other effects than stats.

So let's share our toughts about which active bonuses are best for TR.

Here is my preliminary list:

1.
Ioun Stone of Allure
On Encounter Use 10% chance to slow targets (at rank 30)
Active bonus not so great, but augmentation gives you 100% companion stats, thats why it is first and always summoned. Other augment companions works here too, but Stone of Allure is the cheapest.

2.
Dancing Blade
+5% Critical Severity (at rank 30)
It is like small vorpal.

3.
Lightfoot Thief
On Critical Hit Foes nearby target will bleed for 3x Level based damage every 2 seconds for 10 seconds.
TR's have a high crit chance and low aoe dps, so this looks very attractive. From what i've heard, bleeds stack and there is no max target limit (but i haven't tested). Probably the best use for this would be spamming Duelists Flurry when a bunch of mobs are drawn into CW's Singularity.

4.
Blink Dog
+5% Combat Advantage Damage (at rank 30)
Sounds good, since TR's often have CA. I hope the active bonus really works and is not bugged or something. Hard to test.

5.
Aranea
3% chance to have lightning strike target.
I have no idea how much damage this does, but i figured with Duelists Flurry it should proc quite often.

Other interesting choices:

Sprite
+2% Action Point Gain.
Not much, but always active.

Book Imp
+2% Recharge Speed.
Always active, but doesn't benefit from At Wills.

Fire Archon
Increases damage against targets with less than 30% Hit Points by +5%
Should be good for boss fights. Maybe good idea to switch some other companion with this before the boss fight and switch back afterwards.

Less interesting choices:

Pseudodragon
20% chance to restore some Stamina/Guard when attacking.
I don't know about this one. I want more damage, not more rolling arround. Also i don't feel i lack stamina in dungeons.

Wild Hunt Rider
On Encounter Use 2% chance to increase damage by 10% for 5 seconds.
Somehow doesn't appeal to me at all. We have only 3 encounters, some with long cooldowns and it's only 2% chance. I'd rather take something that is either always active or activates often.

So what do you think, do you agree with my top 5 or maybe you have anything to say on the matter?

Best companions depend on build you use. I use more or less Banelorne's Stealth-Based Executioner specialized for handling high HP targets/bosses. Well, if I ever flowed in millions of AD, I would go with the following set of purple dudes:

    1. Ioun Stone of Might -> +5% Stamina Regen
    2. Dancing Blade -> +5% Critcial Severity
    3. Blink Dog -> +5% Combat Advantage Damage
    4. Leprechaun -> 10% AoE Damage Resist

ad 1. Stone is quite obvious, I find "of might" having the best passive bonus (more stamina regen -> more dodges -> higher survivability)
ad 2. I believe that in a high-crit build stacking critical sever is a good boost to dps.
ad 3. Perma-stealth -> dealing Combat Advantage most of the time -> boost to dps
ad 4. My the top one reason of dying in dungeons is overlapping AoEs, unfortunate dodging from one AoE to another red area, caught in AoE immobile with ITC on cooldown. So yeah, AoE is a problem for me, 10% resist is significant survivability improvement.

If the fight mechanics/lack of CWs in a party forces me to slot Smoke Bomb and be responsible for CC, I'd drop Dancing Blade and Blink Dog and slot:
    2. Cantankerous Mage (+15% control bonus for blue version, don't know the figures for purple one)
    3. Will-O'-Wisp (+25% Control Resist/+15% Control Bonus)

Yeah, It's nice to dream about such collection of companions ;-)

    So far my setup is:
    1. Stone of allure (blue) -> On Encounter Use 7% chance to slow target (summoned)
    2. Armored Orc Wolf (green) -> +100 Critical Strike
    3. Renegade Illusionist (green) -> +55 Life Steal/+55 Deflect
    4. Ioun Stone of Radiance (green) -> +55 Life Steal/+55 Deflect (not summoned, but the rest of my companions are white ones...)
Ratharel - stealthy backstabber from the Myth Drannor

Wild hunter is really good if you upgrade it to purple and use some short CD encounters. Like Blitz/Dazing Strike/Wicked Reminder.

    My setup is
    1) Stone of might
    2) Dancing Blade
    3) Fire Archon ( I am tiefling so it stacks perfectly with my racial feat)
    4) Lightfoot thief
    5) Aranea/wild hunter (depends on the situation)

    Currently I am running:

    1) Ion Stone of Allure ~ Epic - 10% chance to slow
    2) Rust Monster ~ Epic - 25% chance to inflict 5% damage debuff on attacker (stacks 3 times)
    3) Fire Archon ~ Epic - +5% damage to enemies below 30% HP
    4) Dancing blade ~ Rare - +3% Critical Severity (In progress of making it epic
    5) Blink dog ~ Uncommon - +2% Combat advantage damage

Trying to go for the lightfoot thief when they are the appropriate level.
