about the classes

so currently i have a few lvl 30s classes, ive tried all of them except CW.

Since this game is more of a coop rather than a mmo....(tons of solo instances, the "open world" zones are split into 50 shards making you see 10-20 people in the entire zone, can pretty much solo the entire game form lvl 1-60 etc) and the only time you get to band up with people is when you need a party for a dungeon (in which nobody ever talks to anyone...)

So, considering i have a few chars half way to the end game id like to hear from the community about how classes perform in end game (mainly dungeons..) since i can solo with any class well.

I haven't decided on what my main should be, i have fun with all the classes. And id like to know more about how they function in end game dungeons.

So the questions are:

1- what classes are mostly sought out for in end game dungeons?
2- how are the end game dungeons in general?..so far ive only seen kill trash, meet boss, atack boss, kill adds, kill boss,repeat..... (goes for party dungeons and solo instances ive seen so far..rly hoping to meet something new soon)

Another thing is pvp, so far ive experienced the control the points match but are there any others available?

1- CW, GWF, DC (currently. this can change on essentially every class balance patch, but CW/DC will always be wanted more than any other class to the point where some parties will only use those two, or even only CW.)
    2- Pretty much that
3- Only mode is Domination at the moment

Ironically given your situation, CW is the best choice for endgames and has been since Open Beta as you will see endgame groups asking for 2, 3 or even 4 CWs.

Failing that a DC is a safe bet - they are useful until parties get over-geared when stacking CWs (or even GWFs) is a better option. If you really do not want to play a DC, then the GWF is CURRENTLY the next best choice after a CW. Do note, however, that with the exception of CW and DC, how effective classes are in Dungeons has varied enormously since Open Beta (For instance GWF was the worst by far PvE class until Module 2, while TRs went from second best DPS to joint worst now).

As for dungeons, yes they are primarily add-fests...

For #1, I'd say DCs and CWs are the most sought after.

To be frank, I can't think of a single MMO where an epic instance didn't consist of fighting your way through minions to reach a mini-boss, followed by more minions, perhaps another mini-boss, and eventually the final boss. Even if a dungeon did involve puzzles and the like, after your 10th time through, it'd just be another obstacle to overcome, anyway. Regardless, yes, dungeons are adds, boss, more adds, and another boss or 2.

There's a rather big overhaul to PvP in the works. Other than that, I'm not too experienced in the matter to talk about particulars.

For the most part, the 'end game' dungeons are just tooled up versions of the leveling dungeons. What you've seen already if you run Cloak Tower or whatever is what you'll see again, generally turned up to eleven.

It's funny how during Dungeon Delves, the LFG channel is filled with "LF CW" "LF DC" The devs need to find a way to make other classes as desirable as CWs and DCs. The fact that groups prefer CWs to make dungeon clearing more efficient is a class balance flaw.

    1. CW

    2. I find the combat is excellent. The other factors you are describing are a staple in all other MMOs. If you can't seem to enjoy it, this is either your first MMO and you probably should go back to Call of Duty.

Your questions have been pretty well answered, so I would just add that numerically 30 is halfway to endgame, but performance wise and time left to level, it's not even close to halfway there. What you are seeing now is really not the endgame reality. I do think you will be happier if you do decide on a main- I leveled a bunch of chars at once, and got spread pretty thin trying to get them all outfitted and upgraded. New class soon... the game is crawling with CW's and GWF's. So yeah these are in demand, but the demands are more than met by the supply. Good DC's are usually welcome and they seem to find a place fastest when queueing solo.

I also find the combat excellent, the fact i find some parts that are a staple in all other MMOs kinda boring isnt because this is my first mmo, or that im a cod player (last cod ive played was cod 2...) its because ive played more than 40 mmos out there and ive been trough the staple over and over and over again....

Again, the combat is excellent cause i haven't been trough that combat system over 40 times ...

because i have no problem with in game currencies in mmos(in this case AD) ill give a CW a try, if i dont like it ill main my lvl 32 DC

unlike all other posts, i'd say DC is useless for a geared group. there is no need for dc when you can replace him with a gwf and get tank+dps. i am sure most of people that run dungeons with their guild can agree with me on that.
for ungeared pugs, both dc and gf are useful actually.
but i'd vote for making a strong cw of gwf. best currently.

I can not agree with that statement regarding the DC... It might be true for the way most people play a DC (mostly healing) but a decent amount of clerics started to play the class as a dps/debuff hybrid. With Linked Spirit, Divine Glow, Hollowed Ground and maybe even the High Prophet set or a Terror Enchantment a well-played DC adds way more damage to the group than an additional DPS does.

But yeah, my groups usually consist of:
    2 GWF, 2 CW, 1 DC
    1 GWF, 3 CW, 1 DC

There just is no place for the other 3 classes in well-geared groups when one tries to maximize the speed in which a dungeon can be cleared.

What sad is that there are people who believe this!

OP: Play whatever class you enjoy. This is a game after all and its meant to be enjoyed. No matter what you choose to make your main, you'll find people and groups to run content with.
